Welcome to the independent home of the Games Workshop hobby - your place for hobby information, up to date White Dwarf reviews, tactic articles and a little twisted humour.
Be sure to check out our unofficial gaming rules section, especially the Tales from the Dark City Necromunda rules plug-in, and be sure to drop by the growing hobby section. Also if you bump into a rather gruff Dwarf called Beniot the Crippler in the rather excellant online Warhammer MUD, it's me! I am there every other friday battling through the denziens of Wolfenburg. Be sure to join Beniot on his quest for a better pint of beer, and a decent rat burger - with ketchup of course!
05/01/01 - Like all good things the LMS review site, in it's current form has come to an end - after nine glorius fun months. Well, let's call it a temporary closure for a refit and a new direction. I would like to thank everyone who has emailed me, working on this site has been a lot of fun, and I am a little sad that its all come to an end. The reason for all this is I am about to start work for Games Workshop USA. This means I cannot offer an impartial review service anymore. Which was the main point on the LMS site.
I will still be maintaining the Tales in the Dark City necromunda rules plug-in. With the help of several contributors. Also keep checking back to the Dark city site as it will be undergoing several major changes in the near future - including better downloadable files!
I can also be found battling away every other Friday in the Warhammer MUD. Just look for a rather gruff Dwarf called Beniot. I am currently fighting my way through a wad of training monsters before I face the real thing. Expect to see an MUD diary to appear as new feature on the refitted LMS site.
That's all the news for now, again I would thank everyone for their visits and encouragement. The LMS site was made by a fan for the fans and I hope you all enjoyed the ride as much as I did.
Until the relaunch y'all be gentle with the earth now and have a good one. Ciao...
03/28/01 - I would like to thank everyone who has emailed me with comments on this months White Dwarf 255 review. However, due to the recent major system crash my computer suffered I lost all my emails and could not reply to them. Sorry, its not ignorance on my part as I love discussing different aspects of the hobby with ardent GW gamers. It's just because I don't have your email or addresses to reply to you. So, if you have any comments about any reviews or just want to share your thoughts please email me. I do reply to every email that I receive, thank you for your time.
03/25/01 - Quick update time - at the Tales from the Dark City site the full rules for Incubi Hunting parties have been posted. Again sorry about the delay, the major computer crash I suffered has delayed a lot of things. Also be sure to check out the Death in the Dark City Campaign. We need more Sybarties to fight for their Kabels, as it seems the Renegade Mon-Keighs are slowly taking over the streets of the Dark City!
Finally the LMS site is working on new fangled interactive function called Speakers corner. We will keep you posted on the progress of that. So, until next time - be gentle with the earth now.
03/18/01 - Again LMS lives up to its promises as the now re-written WD255 review has been posted. I was unable to locate my old HTML editor and was forced purchase a new editor called EZpad. Well, I suppose it will help tidy up my HTML coding as I've lost the convenient WYSIWYG inteface of Hot Metal Pro. Again, sorry about the delay Chaps & Chapettes. Now if I can only find my graphics package... Mutter, mutter...
03/14/01 - Disaster strikes at the LMS Outpost! My computer suffered a major error and I was forced to re-format the hard drive. I lost my just finished WD255 review before I could post it, sorry chaps. I will attempt to repost it on this site before the end of the weekend. Just as soon as I locate the disk that has my HTML editor on it! Hmph... That'll teach me not to offer blessings to the Machine God.
In other more pleasent news the Dark City Necromunda plug-in rules have been updated. You can now take part in a World Wide campaign to find out who is the most powerful Kabel in Commorragh! This is of course is balenced out by losing all the data I had on the newly developed Incubi Hunters for the plug-in. Plus I finally got to the last stage of Quake! Och, well... What is it they say?
"To error is human, to really foul things up you need a computer."02/18/01 - The Dark City Necromunda plug-in rules have been updated. Check out the Mon-Keigh rules and new Mon-Keigh only Hired Guns - ever wanted to hire a Space Marine? Well, now you can and if you are really lucky he will join your renegade Mon-Keighs in their fight against denziens of the Dark City.
On a side note I have been scouring the web for more GW related sites. Have a look at the new links that have been added to the Contact page.
Before I finish this update I would like to add that I just picked up Necropolis, the third Gaunt Ghost novel by Dan Abnett. I got my mitts on it up on Saturday morning and finished it that very night! I was hooked and just couldn't put the novel down. I think it's the best Gaunt novel I've read so far! If you are fan of the Tanith or just a WH40K player I highly recommend you get Necropolis, its a bloody good read.
02/14/01 - Quiet week, busy tweaking some rules for the Dark City, expect an update by the end of the weekend. In other news I have added a bunch of new links to the Contact page, check them out.
02/09/01 - As ever we at LMS live up to our promises. Here is the issue review for White Dwarf 254 - enjoy!
02/08/01 - Been a little busy with things, but I'm catching up fast. First off I've finally finished putting together the first of the offerings for the 'How to' section. It's a complete guide to painting a Necron army. Also I got my White Dwarf 254 through the mail today, so I will posting the review at the weekend. Until then, y'all be gentle with the earth now...
02/04/01 - I seem to be updating everyday, but Jay from Battlecolors sent these conversion pictures to me, and I just had to post them. You can view them here. Is it me or does this conversion remind me of a certain rotund White Dwarf editor?
02/03/01 - It was a long time in coming but the site has evolved, with a newer look for the buttons, and I've finally got around to sorting out all those rogue files. Enjoy, and don't forget to take advantage of some of the new features like the forum.
02/02/01 - A big change is a coming to the LMS site. Due to fiancial considerations, it would be unfair to claim that we bring you the most up to date Games Workshop reviews. Instead we are going back to our roots and are going much more hobby heavy. Keep checking back as we concertrate more on painting and modelling. Of course, this doesn't mean we wont be running reviews as and when we can.
01/30/01 - I don't normally do rumours or even the pass on the latest GW news, but this one is a humdinger. As sure as eggs are eggs, GW have picked up the license to do a brand new range of Lord of the Ring miniatures and create a new tabletop game based on the famous novels by JRR Tolkien. Take a look here for the full story and don't forget to sign up for the newsletter! Glory be, the Lord of the Rings trilogy was the reason why I became interested in Games Workshop and Citadel Miniatures in the first place. Time to read the novels again, me thinks.
01/30/01 - It seems this series of updates is like a waiting for a bus. Wait forever for one then they all come at once. Anyhow, I've finally been able to crack open one of my corrupted word files that I brought over from the UK with me. It contains the potted background for the Legio Cybernetica. The rules for which you will find here.
01/29/01 - Phew... Been a busy week, well update wise that is. I have posted a new Humour page. Also the Renegade rules are posted for the Dark City plug-in. Now you can play Renegade Dark Eldar and rogue Mon-Keigh slave parties. Still to come are rules for Incubi hunters and random happenings in the Dark city, so keep checking back.
01/27/01 - As promised I have finally put the White Dwarf 253 review in place. You can thank the USPS for the delay in getting the review to you. I should have better luck with my White Dwarfs now the Christmas rush has finished. Still to come is the Dark City Renegade update, which I hope to have on this site by the end of next week. Also I will be updating my painting project in the next couple of weeks once all the votes are in.
01/21/01 - This is the first update of the new year, sorry guys, been a little busy writing the beta test rules for Renegades for the Dark City plug in. Unfortunately those rules are still in the works. Although, I should have them posted be the end of this month. In other News, I've finally recieved my UK WD253 and I will posting the review by the end of next week (better late than never). To finish off this update is a little taster of another project I've been working on.Check it out, its a 'How to paint' series-I look forward to reading everyones comments about it. Well thats it for now, y'all have a good one.
