read the last page, Farza. All the gory details are there. Be strong. 'Wordly and sophisticated' are also not words i associate with you, Lardy. Not since i heard abot your raincoat collection and that night in the national park. 'Twisted and Wrong' do trip from the tongue quite well after 'Lard' and 'Lad' tho. And, again, in the Nether-Legions, an Auzzie rugby player has just recieved a three month suspension for using the distraction technique known locally as a 'datefinger'. Think i'm gonna start teaching youze some ocker. IP: Logged |

I bet DAWNSTAR of the LEGION would love "I'm Like A Bird"!
I definitely see your view of it being super-slick and over-produced. I can't see her being able to perform ANY of those songs easily on a live performance. I still like it, though. She's going a classier route to stardom than Britney & her clones did, and writes her OWN MATERIAL which I have profound respect for. "I'm Like A Bird" is THE feel-good song for me these days. No other tune compares right now. "Hey, Man" is good too. The others are growing on me... Give it another listen, ZLS! Or at least play "I'm Like A Bird" at top volume! ------------------

There's been, like 5 friggin' posts to this board ALL WEEKEND. I'm glad you're all out there, livin' it up, havin' a great time with your wonderful, fullfilling lives, but I BEG you... don't forget those of us whohave no lives. Don't forget to post! On a lighter note, MEET THE PARENTS was a cute movie. Ben Stiller can borrow my speedo anytime. The Focker joke got old quick, though! Also BRING IT ON was right up my alley and great fun! On the comics end of things, I hope everyone was as surprised with and impressed by GREEN LANTERN 137 as much as I was. That is all. IP: Logged |

had to deal with cold & flu, which is annoying as i'm usually immune. Have discovered drinking holds it at bay, but the minute i stop it comes back. it's ironic that now i have to drink, it's taking all the fun out of it. And replacing it with mucous. ...and i'm sorry, Lashie, for abandoning you. But at the pub, the high-class nightclub opening i scammed an invite to, the bush-doof and the fabulous two day 'Nail Me Up For Easter' pub crawl... at least once i thought of you, surely. probably got it written down somewhere with all those phone numbers... ...here it is; "Gee i'll bet there's not enough C&W karaoke here for Lashie, though that busboy looks...". The rest is sadly obscured by scotch and what is probably lipstick. damn napkins... IP: Logged |

Kid, I've had a HORRIBLE time getting here, but I'm here NOW. I hope you missed me as much as I missed you. As far as Nelly Furtado goes, after numerous listens, her CD is {i]thisclose[/i] to overtaking both David AND Macy Gray as *my* most favorite lsten....! And that is QUITE a complment from me! Still, NO ONE will EVER replace Lucinda Williams as THE best...!!! IP: Logged |

I've been rediscovering the delights of Kate Bush, Hounds of Love mostly. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hi BBC, I think I own just about evrything the devine Kate Bush ever produced. I remeber he rush I got when I realised that Kashka from Baghdad was about a gay couple. I was only 13 or 14 at the time. But Hounds of Love was definately her masterpiece. T IP: Logged |

quote: Hounds of Love is a great album, especially Big Sky, Cloudbusting and most of the Ninth Wave suite on side 2 (I've got the vinyl, can't ya tell)...but I'm more fond of her Dreaming LP. That one's amazing from start to finish! ------------------ -If you know where I could get some original Von Eeden Thriller art, let me know! ...please? link-o-rama!: IP: Logged |

Hi ZoesLoveSlave Hounds of Love I would say is her most accomplished album (and I have the Vinyl and extended CD), but my favourite would have to be Lionheart. Everytime I listen to it, I'm whisked back to my early teens, and all the confusion and wistfulness that went with them. I mentioned Kashka From Baghdad above, but also Oh England. IP: Logged |

quote: Hounds is indeed an excellent album, and in a lot of ways is probably Kate's apex as an artist, especially during the aforementioned Ninth Wave suite...some of those songs are startling-Watching You Without Me, for example. However, the Dreaming is so consistently imaginative and sonically powerful that it's the one that commands my attention the most...each song is like a sequential glimpse into another strange, terrifying and beautiful world...while I consider Lionheart a bit weaker than the albums before and after, I do love several songs from it, ESPECIALLY Oh England My Lionheart. Symphony In Blue and Wow are also very nice, as is Don't Push Your Foot On The Heartbrake. The Kick Inside was the first one I heard...after I saw Kate perform Man With The Child In His Eyes on Saturday Night Live (the only time she's ever performed live in the U.S.), perched atop a Steinway with Paul Shaeffer, of all people, accompanying her, I loved that song so much I had to go out and get it the next day! I have followed her career ever since, and have all her US albums and singles; I even joined the Kate Bush Club for a couple of years ! One favorite from Kick Inside is Oh To Be In Love...very catchy, and I'm a little surprised it wasn't a single! Unfortunately, the last couple of albums (Sensual World, the Red Shoes) have dimmed my enthusiasm for her work quite a bit...while they have their moments, they're a little slick, lifeless and halfheartedly commercialised to me. She's (over)due for another one...I'm hoping that maybe she's been taking her time crafting new music and it will be stronger than the last few efforts. It would be hard for me to name one song that is my favorite, I've got at least two or three candidates on each album! IP: Logged |

A lyric from The Dreaming Album that I never forget; With a kiss, I'd pass the key I find that incredibly evocative. I don't know if you've heard any of the scandalous rumours surrounding Kate, but I really hope they're not interferring with her song writing. IP: Logged |
