| Honest Government (and Good Governance) The Attorney Generals' office should never become scandalised and brought into disrepute by untrustworthy behaviour. We should never see an Attorney General in court for alleged treason. Fremantle residents need to know that their parliamentary representative will uphold our Nations' Constitution and the laws of the land. I will champion our constitutional rights. I will endeavour to reverse this Government's unconstitutional removal of the Crown from our Parliamentary Acts, so that the people retain their right to such choices by referendum, instead of the current situation where the State of Western Australia is becoming a defacto republic by unlawful Acts proclaimed through legislative stealth. The incumbent member for Fremantle as Attorney General has flagrantly gone against wishes of the public as expressed in the referendum on the question of Australia seceding from the commonwealth and becoming a republic. He has changed the definitions of numerous Acts to delete "the crown" and replace with "the State". In doing so he has effectively eroded people's rights. I will push for these amendments to the definitions be repealed with "the crown" reinstated as the lawful authority. |
