The 1st District 308-B1 & B2 Omega Leo Clubs Joint
Installation was jointly organized by the 9 Omega Leo clubs from the both
districts on 5th September 2004 at Sunway College. Over 200 Leos, 30 Lions
including the Lions from all sponsoring clubs attended the function. The guest
of honor of the day for the event was the Multiple District 308 Council
Committee Chairman For Leo Clubs, PCC Dato Ong Tat Lien.
The meeting was called to order by Presiding Officer, Lion Lydia Lai Kah Leng,
President of Lions Club of KL Cheras. Followed by the Flag Salutation led by Leo
Daryan Toh from Leo Club of KLCC. After that was the singing of the National
Anthem followed by the recital of the Leo Pledge by Leo Christine Wong from Leo
Club of KDU PJ. The Organising Chairperson, Leo Robert Heng presented his
speech, thanking everyone present as well as acknowledging the effort by the
committee members.
Leo Lucy Loo from our club went up after that and presented another speech on
behalf of all the outgoing officers, thanking the all the out going officers for
their job well done in the past one year and congratulated the incoming officer.
Ceremony went on with the speech by the Guest of Honor. Next was the induction
of new members by District Chairman, Lion Oeh Eng Soon. Our new member Leo Hooi
E-Von was officially inducted and proudly declared herself as part of the
largest service organization in the world.
The event went on with the installation of the incoming board of directors by
District Chairman Lion Sashekala. After that, all sponsoring Lions Club
Presidents passed the Leo Gavels to all their respective newly-installed
presidents. Leo Choe Jee Lung on behalf of all the newly installed presidents
then presented his speech. The meeting was adjourned at 5.00 p.m. by the
Presiding Officer. And the entire event was concluded after the refreshments and
a variety of performances from the Leo members as well as invited guests. The
function ended at approximately 6.00 p.m.
The installation managed to strengthen the relationship and co-operative values
between Omega Leo members from various clubs, who came together and made this
large scale event a huge success.
Our club did our fair contributions through our members, Leo Lucy Loo in charged
of the Opening Ceremony, Leo Chua Yee Kuan in charged of Protocol and
Accommodations.
