LEO CLUB OF KL
PERENNIAL
How It All Started ?
The idea for a new Omega Leo Club was mooted by
Leo Won Jeng Yean at the end of 2001, a former Leo member from the Leo Club
of SMK La Salle PJ. In fact, the name of the club originated from him. The
LIONS Club of KL Vision City took an interest in the idea, and a meeting was
set up between them.
However, some delay arose and the idea was pushed back until mid 2002. By
then, a lot of people had already started their tertiary education. Leo Lee
Jun Hoe stepped in as Charter President in place of Leo Won Jeng Yean who
was unable to commit at that time. The club then began its activities under
the guidance of Leo Advisors CC Lion ST Yeoh and Lion Yvonne Kingham, and
the support of LIONS Club of KL Vision City led by Lion Desmond Tee.
The club was officially formed on the 25th of September with the 1st
Organisation Day on the 23rd of November 2002. By then, the numbers of
members had swell to include students from various colleges. The number of
projects was limited, but the participation in 2 major joint projects and
other club activities were remarkable nonetheless. More importantly, it set
the foundation as a promising and premiere Omega Leo Club.
