The Leos carried out the sales via various
marketing strategies as below:-
1. Direct approach to club member’s family, friends and relatives.
2. Direct approach to other Leo clubs’ members in Region 2 & 3.
3. Setting up booth in University Malaya.
4. Setting up booth in Sunway University College.
5. Promotion to the Leos and Lions via email / Online catalog and online order
form.
6. Presentation and approach at Lions Club of KL Vision City General Meeting.
7. Other Leo and Lions functions that will be held within the recent weeks.
The Leos have received fantastic response from
various parties especially the Lions in the region as well as the
friends-of-Leo. The gift packages supply were also increased from 3 batches that
was planned in the first place to 4 batches to accommodate the demand. There
were more than 80 of gift packages and 20 cartons of Yong Chun oranges (Product
A & Product B) that were sold out via our members at the end of the day.
After deducting all the costs incurred, the club made a total surplus of RM
410.61 from this meaningful fund raising project. A portion of surplus will be
spent to purchase food and snacks for the kids in Precious Home while the
balance will be kept in the club’s project fund for the usage of future
community services project.
Overall this project can still be considered as a really successful one as we
have not only managed to raise a large amount of fund for the needy, but at the
same time we were also able to increase the awareness and publicity for our
club’s activities through various approaches to members’ families, friends as
well as setting up selling booths in 2 local universities which will bring us
long term benefits in membership recruitment.
The implementation of information technology by having the online ordering
system also contributed to the success of this project, not only it eased the
entire purchasing process but also the publicity, the buyers were allowed to
visit the website, had a glance on the pictures of product and placed their
order directly instead of tedious explanation via phone calls.
The bond between the members in the club was brought closer at the same time
through various interaction and teamwork when we were preparing the gift
packages together.
As a conclusion, the overall process of this project has benefited the club in
terms of finance, reputation and image, strengthened bond & teamwork between
members and last but not least, the application of modern technology.
