Cartoon Analysis  

For the cartoon links below, answer the following questions for the visuals (pictures) and for the words.

 

Visuals:  

       Level 1 Questions:

1.     List the objects or people you see in the cartoon.

          Level 2:

2.     Describe the objects on the list.  Note anything unusual or special.

3.     Describe the people’s appearance and actions.

4.     Are any stereotypes used?   

  Words:
          Level 1

1.     Identify the cartoon caption and/or title.

2.     Record any important dates or numbers that appear in the cartoon.

            Level 2

3.     Which words or phrases in the cartoon appear to be the most significant? Why do you think so?

4.     List adjectives that describe the emotions portrayed in the cartoon

1.     Describe the action taking place in the cartoon.

2.     Explain how the words or characters have symbolic or metaphorical meanings.  

3.     Explain how stereotypes are used for humor or satire to convey the message.

4.     Explain the message of the cartoon.
