Hex and her many emotionsUltimately, Hexadecimal is the most deranged and random resident of Mainframe. She lives for destruction, chaos, disorder. If something doesn't please Hexadecimal, she merely blows up. Hexadecimal has an almost unlimited amount of power, being a virus. She can fly, make objects float, and create balls of energy to heave.

Being a chaotic virus, she is a strange and elusive creature. In the beginning, she did not have a face, only many masks, each fixed in a single emotion: anger, fear, sadness, pleasure... She is unpredictable, in her emotions and actions. Hex liked painting, and she was her favorite subjectEven Bob, the only person that, strangely enough, seems to respect and generally care for her, is sometimes frightened by the woman. With the exception of the Guardian, all other beings avoid her whenever possible.

Hexadecimal is very good at wearing down nerves. She has a frighteningly annoying habit of popping up when she isn't wanted and transporting people to her lair whenever she was bored or desired company. Even caged, Hex a dangerous creatureShe has transfinite power limits, so she can destroy anything and anyone she wants. The Mainframers were wary of her company, for she could obliterate them on a whim. Dot especially disliked Hexadecimal; the virus used every opportunity to make Dot jealous and Hexadecimal was very touchy-feely with Bob.

From the beginning, Hexadecimal has had a My face...devout fascination with Bob. She often goes to drastic measures to get his attention or bait him into coming to her. Perhaps it is because he is the only one that has ever treated her with any respect at all, unlike the other Mainframers who shun and disdain her like the plague. After her own brother had repaired her burnt body and used her for his own purposes, she escaped, retreating back to her lair, in the warped sector of Lost Angles. When Bob came back from the Web, she transported him to the lair. He repaired her mask, fractured by the game cube, making the virus quite grateful. Bob even managed to convince Phong to give her an icon, making Hexadecimal a data sprite, so she wouldn't be deleted in the system restart. A brand new Hex

Now, Hexadecimal seemed slightly less insane, though her obsession with Bob was just as strong. After using up the last of her powers ridding Mainframe of some annoying infected Guardians, Hexadecimal was attacked by the nulls. Strangely, they were actually protecting her. Somehow (Phong's explanation is rather confusing), after the restart, the system read her as a data sprite, and now she was being reformatted. Hex's sacrifice saved them allWhen it over, the Mainframers found themselves in the company of a yellow-skinned woman that possessed Hexadecimal's overzealous personality, but was as powerless as any other sprite.

It was possible for her to return to a viral state, regaining her powers, but Bob convinced her that it was better being a sprite. Hexadecimal used this to her advantage, trying incredibly hard to get closer to her savior, but Bob continued to gently push her away. However, when shunned by Daemon for being an abomination, Hexadecimal absorbed some of Core's energy, restoring her viral powers and allowing her to give Daemon a good fight. Still, Daemon managed to complete her function, sending the entire Net into a massive countdown of deletion. Following her heart, Hexadecimal sacrificed herself, nullifying Daemon's power with her own benignity. She told Bob she did for him, because she loved him.

She gave up everything she had for him
