As with most viruses, little is known of Daemon or of whence she came. On the surface, she appears to be a young woman, soft spoken and childlike in her essence. But when provoked, she fights like a cornered rat.
Daemon's goal seemed simple: unity of the entire Net. She began by infecting the majority of the Guardian Collective, the force of law and justice in the Net. With each guardian she infected, Daemon gained a mindless disciple, willing to sacrifice him or herself for Lady. But two she missed: Matrix, the renegade, and Bob, guardian of system Mainframe. She for some time also missed the fact that Turbo, the Prime Guardian, was resisting the infection, her Word, and it was through him that Bob and the others learned of the extent of Daemon's infection. Always at her side was Daemon, evidently an early convert, who served his Lady in whatever way possible.
She deigned that Bob - already one of the best guardians in the Net, and enhanced even more by his merging with his keytool Glitch - to spread her Word throughout the rest of Net, to let others know of the peace and happiness the Word supposedly brought. Now as to why she chose Bob and not another, that is still in question.
Daemon combated the efforts of the Mainframers to stop and repel her infection swiftly, she took their friends and family and made them her own, and finally came to Mainframe herself to greet her messenger. After infecting the last of the resistance in Mainframe and casting aside Hexadecimal as an abomination to their kind (for resisting her viral nature), she revealed her true format and function: Chron Virus, to achieve unity, through the destruction of all.
Hexadecimal took it upon herself to defeat Daemon's countdown of deletion, to save her love Bob. In nullifying the infection, Hexadecimal sacrificed herself.
Now nothing lingers of the young faced virus, only unpleasant memories. Still, perhaps, if she had been a normal sprite, she might have found friends in Mainframe. Her tendency toward non-violence was similar to that of Bob's, and Daemon seemed to have a quiet, passive nature.
