    1. Introduction:
    2. A value stands for ideal men life for. Values ensure the manliness of man and womanliness of woman. Values are part and parcel of the philosophy of a nation and that of its educational system. They are guiding principles of the life, which are conductive to all round development of a person.

We have to take steps to ensure students would keep in view the challenge of the primary values. Schools, Colleges, which trains students should try to inculcate these values. Inculcation of desirable values in the pupils is felt essential for meeting the crisis of character. In this situation that is rapidly developing, it is equally important for us to give a proper value - orientation to our educational system. Swami Ranganathananda stressed the significance of traditional, ethical, social and moral values in education in following way:

    3. Education and Traditional Values:
    4. Through education man should achieve social welfare by the mastery of the external environment through scientific technological and social-political efficiency. Man should achieve spiritual enrichment by the mastery of his inner life through religion.

    5. Ethical and Social Values in Education:
    6. The relationship of ethical and social values to education is intimate and integral. These values are by-products of man's spiritual growth.

Dharma or social ethics, treats 'manas' (i.e. mind) as a member of a social group. Interaction with each other and the external social environment are enabled. Thus enriching it economically, politically and culturally. In turn ,getting enriched in character efficiency, political awareness, and human concern. all these virtues and graces are what we call ethical excellence.

    7. Moral Values in Education:
    8. The training of the man in the family and the social contexts introduces us to the idea of an inner growth and development of man. A person can acquire moral values by accumulation of knowledge and information by way of practice. Moral values should be developed in a child from the beginning of his education so that he can achieve them wherever he gets knowledge and information.

    9. Spiritual Values in Education:

Physical and mental growth is necessary to a man, but they alone are not sufficient. There is a third growth of man to be ensured by all true education, most vital and significant but least recognized, not only for himself but also for his or her society. This is his or her spiritual growth, which can be developed through education by teachers.

    To Sum Up :

Man from out of himself in the course of his manipulation and control of the external physical world and the external social environment creates values. Therefore, they are the products of human nature and not of external nature. A child can achieve all round development by assimilation of all values, which he or she learns through education.

Swami Ranganathananda stressed that we need to respect our traditional values. Teacher must ensure that Ethical, Social, Spiritual and Moral values are acquired by children through education. We need assimilation of all these values.
