EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY OF

SWAMI RANGANATHANANDA

  • EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT
    1. Introduction:
    2. A University is meant to be an institution for acquisition and dissemination of knowledge and for fostering free and responsible thinking. By discharging this function, it releases forces for composing the distractions of the age and for taking humanity onward in its march to self-knowledge and self-expression. That is the purpose of higher education in every free society.

    3. Education as Human Development:
    4. Education is the process by which man, submerged in the collectively, is raised to the dignity and status of, first, an individual, then, a person, with the capacity to integrate oneself freely with other persons. We should stop towards this type of man-making education.

    5. Teacher's Role in Human Development:

Teachers should give creative inspiration and guidance to our youth. Our teachers must learn to take advantage of the current national buoyancy, the current tide of national enthusiasm, in the affair of our nation, and said onward with their students at its flood, beckoning the nation to follow them. This is the role of teachers in India. That is why they are called Gurus and the Students are called Sishyas.

    To Sum Up:

Our Universities should be the centres from which all-dynamic energies will radiate through out the nation. Teachers should convert our educational institutions into dynamic centres of human growth, development, and fulfillment.
