  • Revered Swami Ranganathananda suggests through his writings and lectures all those who are said to be partners in India's progress to develop modern view, which has a strong foundation in its historical past.

    Swamiji is a great integrationalist. His ideals of integration do not encounter any way with the globalistic tendency, both would harm our interests and arrest our progress.

    We have to study our ancient lore with rational out look and explore new ways of interpretation, which suits our growing needs and aspirations. at the same time we have to keep our mental doors open to absorb new developments with it. Any system, which fails to absorb the new developments, becomes polluted and looses its freshness. This type of education we have to provide to our children right from their childhood behaving as models and reference groups for them.

    There are many philosophical systems of India and Indian philosophers have contributed their rich ideas for the development of our educational system to be more effective highly rewarding and totally utilitarian. Hence it is our duty to contemplate over it and chouse it, whole-heartedly.

    Swami Ranganathananda and Swami Vivekananda wanted to make education as an instrument for bringing desirable changes in the society. They opposed caste system, traditional system and conservation, which hampered the development of Indian society and became a cardinal cause of political dependence and deintegration.

    Swami Ranganathananda has taken up the task of making our educational system, really modern scientific and at the same time philosophic too. He gave social touch to the administration and educational system through his series of lectures and writings.

    India has democratic ideals to be realized through socialistic practices. To make India really an ideal nation, there is an urgent need to infuse scientific temper and rational out look in the society we have to inculcate age long cherished values which stood test of the time and gave India its unique and due position. Because of the evils of industrialization, urbanization, materialism, most of the values that India got in her heritage, which were lost in course of time. Thus along with education, dehumanization has also began.

    Swami Ranganathananda has analyzed this situation critically. He is a person who represents the ancient most order yet he is totally modern in his outlook and approaches. He requests our teachers to be modern in outlook and rationalize out age-old practices.
