In autumn 1996 Stena Line and P&O achieved a co-operation. It still took several years before the European Commision
gave her approval for the co-operation. On march 10th 1998 the new company P&O Stena Line officially started.
The experience of P&O European Ferries and Stena Line are united in
this young company. The shares of P&O Stena Line were divided into 40% for Stena Line and 60% for P&O. The final decision power is equally divived.
P&O Stena Line operates the routes between England and France/Belgium. Seven supermodern ferries operate between Dover and Calais. On peakmoments every 30 minuts a ship sails to the other side of the
channel. Footpassengers as well as their cars or lorries are conveyed in 75 minuts.
Three freighters operate between Dover and Zeebrugge. They do 6 crossings daily in both directions. |
