| PLAYER KILLING |
| Well done, you've passed the run. So, now what? Well, by now I should hope you pretty much know what you are doing. But for those unsure heres a few tips and pointers. Who's that and where are they? I'm sure you can think of a use for these. Stavic Longbeard - Flats off short Street in AM. Ned Simnel - Dinky, in the smithy. Millie Hopgood - Slice, in her house. Harley Skiller - Fiddler's Riddle Tavern in OC. Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler - Usually aroun Sator SQ or the plaza. Mihk-gran-bohp - Wandering the streets of KLK. Captain Carrot - Wandering Ankh Morpork. Mr. Tulip - Wandering Anlh Morpork. Albert - Deaths house in the kitchen. Wreck-Me-Own-Boat Thursday - On an island via the T-shop Clarence de Q'ta - Wandering Ankh Morpork, usually hiding. Keep advancing, obviously, but you are PK now so try and concentrate a little more on those hiding skills and perception. It can be more than a little annoying when you first pass the run, it seems like every PK is bigger, better and stronger than you are.....hey mate :P you're level 75 with crappy bonus's. They _are_better than you. :P As with anywhere in life, you get assholes, the disc is no different. So, as a result of this you will find that there are older and more experienced PK's who will have the time of thier life killing you and stealing from you. Fortunately they are few and far between on the disc but you should still be aware of your surroundings, hence the perception. With high perception you can see that bugger trying to steal from you - bear in mind that alot of new PK thiefs will target young assassins because they are easy prey to 'practice' upon - and prevent it. If someone does steal something from you, don't throw a wobbler about it. Alot of thief's will happily give the item back to you if it is of sentimental value or sell it back. Seems harsh? Selling it back? yeah, you're right :) Keep it in mind and then refund the price of a life to the first person you inhume.....Ahhh, you don't like that idea? Hehe, just keep in mind they are only doing what they joined the guild to do, the same as you will be doing soon enough. :) - Incidentally, If you did repay a life you'd be breaking charter. :P Avoiding death is not an easy one. The best advice I can give is to keep you're head down and don't run about shouting that you are PK, your skills will soon build up now and you'll become tougher but in the meantime, use those covert skills. :) Okies, you are now aware and prepared for the worst. What else can you do? Whey Hey! Inhume summat! Toddle along to the office and look at all those nice juicy contracts :) Whats this? Oer. Is this right? I only see wreck-my-own-boat-Thursday. Hehe welcome to the assassins guild. :) There are times when there are more NPC contracts on the books and when they do appear the emphasis is on speed. Get there fast and get it over with. You need to have inhumed a number of 4 before you can view the PK contracts at Silken level. Its easy enough to do because you can inhume any NPC up to 4 times. Some are easy to kill such as Thursday and some harder, like Carrot or Tulip. It really is great fun though so get stuck in :) THINGS NOT TO DO AS A PK This really only aplies to when you reach the status of Silken Assassin, that dosn't, however, mean that you shouldn't take notice of it. The biggest whine of all time with Silkens onwards, is of the client becoming aware of his contract. There are very few PK contracts on the books at any one time anyway and then when one of them are informed by a 'friend' or find out by other means then they tend to log off or hide in Brother David's. Can you imagine the frustration involved in that? Each time you go to view the book you see the same names there, you finger them and see that they havn't logged on in weeks, or, scry them and see them happily sitting in a 'safe' place. Sod that for lark! Ok, so to prevent the above keep a few things in mind. Finger the player. How old is he/she? Hrm, 134 days old. Refer the player, what is his/hers Guild title? *coughs* Holy Father, the highest. What is his Guild? *shuffles* Priest, very high perception and big shields. ROFL! you've just reached Silken and you think you can inhume him? Remember trying to inhume Tulip that time? Well this guy makes Tulip look like a beggar. :P Basically, if you havn't caught on yet. Try to inhume this guy, no matter how good your intentions you will fail, I'm not mocking you're skills, it's just a fact. The old guys in our guild would struggle. Thing is though, if you try, then he will see you and then be aware of a contract upon him......Which takes us full circle and we're back to Brother David's and not logging in. Frustrating isn't it? You joined the Guild thinking that you'd be able to inhume etc and can't. I agree completely. There are a few occasions when younger and more suitable players are contracted, though i have to admit that this is very rarely. But don't despair! Keep inhuming those NPC's and get XP's, it won't be long before you are tough enough to take on the big guys too......gawds who am i kidding? It sucks shite. :P |
