THE CHARTER
PREFACE
-------
It is often forgotten who we work for.  Some people seem to think
we are in the employ of our 'clients'.  This is not so.  Our bills
get paid by those who place the contracts on our 'clients'.  Hence,
in order to better serve our customer base, follows is the Assassin
Standard Operating Procedures (ASOP).  It is aimed to improve our
services to those who pay the bills.  This may mean you have to
sometimes forget your friendships in order to fulfil your duty to
the guild.  If you feel you cannot perform then you are free to
request a discharge from our guild.

There is the wording of the rules, and there is the spirit of the rules.
The guild will not brook attempting to use exact wording as a means
of circumvention of the spirit of the rules.  We are not the Guild of
Lawyers.  Claims to be ignorant of the spirit will not be accepted.

A.S.O.P
-------
These are rules regarding your job as an assassin, more specifically
dealing with inhumations.
1. Never agree to an arranged inhume offer.  You are to refuse any
and all such overtures, regardless of the source.
2. Never give out the names of clients, to anyone, least of all the
   client themself.
3. Do not pay for new lives for a client.  If you feel they are
being repeatedly contracted, contact me or the Powers That Be.
4. Carry yourself with style and act with honour at all times.
5. Never loot the corpse of a client upon successful execution of
a contract - whether or not you closed it.

   Notes regarding your duty
   -------------------------
This is general reference to the hazards of your job.
   1. A client is entitled to defend him/her/itself with terminal
force if you are attempting to inhume them (Rights to Self
      Defence).
   2. Self Defence and Revenge are two seperate entities.  If you are
being assaulted/harassed over a failed inhume since closed or
a successful inhume you have performed, come see me.
   3. If a client is hiding in inaccessible areas, take it in stride
and don't harass them over it.  If they want to spend hours in
Brother David's, then they can't be doing much else.

INTERNAL CODES OF CONDUCT
-------------------------
These directives govern the interaction between yourself and your
fellow assassins.
1. You are not to kill fellow assassins.  If they are interfering with
your operations, they are violating directive #2 (listed below) and
are to be reported to me.  If they are slandering you, public or
otherwise, they are violating directive #3 (listed below) and are
   to be reported to me.
2. You are not to interfere with another assassin's operations.  This
ranges from souls that bring an assassin out of hiding against his
or her wishes, to searching them out against his or her wishes.
3. You are to treat each other with respect.  If you do not have
anything nice to say, then refrain from speaking.
4. You are to not steal from your fellow assassins.  If you love to
steal so much, you have joined the wrong guild.

EXTERNAL CODES OF CONDUCT
-------------------------
These directives govern the interaction between yourself and your
fellow players, mostly centred around the playerkiller community.
1. Theft of Quest Items that are property of target player is strictly
   prohibited.
2. Placing, or getting someone else to place a contract on you and
then using that as a pretext to "defend" yourself against assassins
will be treated directly as a violation against directive #1 as
set out in the Internal Codes of Conduct, above.

ENFORCEMENT
-----------
Punishment can range from reprimand to Guild Sanction to disavowal.
Each case will be considered seperately.

Good hunting all,
Vermillion
Master of the Assassin's Guild.
