Project Plan & Build Status
Sissy Bar, Handle Bars, Fender, & Other Stuff
The pictures show some work on the following:

1.  Handle Bars - They were built with 1" tubing. I took pieces  from the stock bars such as the 7/8" grip portion and the section that mounts in the trees. I used a bottle jack pipe bender to make the bends and give them the look I was going for.

2. Fender - I purchased a 7.5"
fender from LRT.  Using small tabs welded to the cross members I fastened it to the frame. I also cut out a small point in the back to again obtain the look desired.

3.  Sissy Bar - The Sisy Bar is made using 1/2" round bar.  I bent it into the desired shape using the pipe bender and some additional persuasion in the table vice.  It was then mounted into place.

4.  Seat Pan - Pretty straignt forward here; I took 16ga stock along with a scrap piece of the rear fender and fabricated a seat pan.

5.  Forward Controls - The forwards were fabricated using 3/16" steel (which may be too thin) and cut it out and bent it as seen in the photos.  The mechanism is nothing more that a bolt, piece of tubing, and a nut welded to a forward bracket.  The shifter and foot pegs were
purchased items.

6.  Taillight - Again not much to say here; it is some sheet stock that is bent into the desired shape and the
cateye taillight is mounted to it.  This will be the taillight/license plate bracket.  The whole assembly is mounted to the bike using bolts for easy removal.

6.  Battery Box - The box is fabricated using 16ga sheet metal.  It will hold both the battey and the majority of the electrical components. It will be mounted under the oiltank and to the left of the chain.

7.
Headlight - Using just a small piece of 1/4" sheet metal a bracket was fabricated and mounted to existing holes on the trees.

8.  Coils - I mounted the coils right in front so I could use the existing wires.  I will probably make an accent cover to hide them.

9.
Turn Signals - Installed the turn signals using some simple steel tabs welded to the sissybar and the trees.  I questioned myself about having turn signals at all, but they don't look too bad.

10. Kickstand - No magic here, I just transplanted the stock one to this bike.

Almost time for paint....
