Lacing the Rear Wheel
A common modification that CB750 chopper builders do is lacing the original Honda hub to an aftermarket Harley rim.
I will be doing this mod on my project as well.  It's not too difficult but it does take some patience.

I started off by ordering a 4"x16" 40 hole chrome rim from Lowrider's by Tommy (LRT) and a set of stainless steel spokes off of Ebay.

To begin the lacing you must remove the original hub from the original wheel.  I started using some electrician Klines, but quickly moved up to the cutoff wheel.  The cutoff wheel made quick work of this task.

(I should note that a measurement of the hub offset needs to be made before cutting the hub out...I did not do this and had to do some guesswork later on)

The next step is to group the spokes into inside and outside spokes.  There should the 20 of each. Next each spoke was placed into the hub and the "criss-cross" pattern was layed out.   The new rim was placed over the hub and after scratching my head for about an hour they were all fit to their appropiate hole.  The spokes that I purchased needed alittle presuasion (had to be bent) to fit.  All of the spokes were loosley tighten.

The next step is truing the wheel.  I mounted the axle and wheel into my table vise and clamped a scrap piece of steel onto the vice for an indicator.
I first made sure the hub was concentric with the rim (centered).  I followed that up with removing the wobble. Next, I mounted the wheel onto the chopper frame and set the hub offset.  I basically made sure the wheel was running in the center of the frame. Finally mounted the wheel/axle back in the vice and tighted all of the spokes until taught.

Ther you have it a 4" wide rim that you can mount a "fat" 160 tire on.
