AGRICULTURE PRODUCTIONS

The province�s agricultural sector is famous for the large production of wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and spices which are also inputs to processing activities.

There are eight varieties of citrus that are being grown in the province. Together with other exotic fruits, these are mostly grown in Malabing Valley where over a hundred hectares are commercially cultivated for citrus production. An additional 500 hectares is identified expansion.

Nueva Vizcaya is also famous for its sweets mangoes, pineapples, bananas and papayas. In Bagabag, over 200 hectares are planted to pineapples. Another 450 hectares are available for expansion.

In its upland areas, ginger, sweet peas, cabbages, carrots, peppers, cauliflowers and tubers are commercially grown in the towns of Kayapa, Dupax, and Kasibu-the salad bowl of the region.

Rice and corn are grown abundantly, particularly the fancy rice and white sweet corn varieties.

The local government of Nueva Vizcaya is setting up trading posts, farm to market roads and other economic infrastructure facilities to cope with the increasing volume of production.
