Message #1:

First, read Samuel Scudder's " Take This Fish and Look at It,". Next, apply Professor Agassiz's technique to a common object you might use every day. Spend five minutes carefully examining an object and then write a brief description ( 150 word minimum ) of what you have observed. List the features you have never noticed before.

Message #1

After a long, frustrating day I search for this to relax me. I find it lying in state waiting for me to bring it back to life. As I open its tomb, a smell of sweet mahogany emanates from its resting place. Upon looking at it from head to body, I marvel at this thing of beauty. As I pick it up, I fasten it to me so that we can become one. Before we embark on our wonderful journey, I make sure that we are in perfect harmony. When I strum across her body, it makes the most joyous sound one has ever heard. Time seems to stand still as we interact with each other. All of my frustrations seem to just melt away when we are together. Eventually, our time together must end, for now, and I must return it back to its tomb. I separate myself from it and begin to wipe it down for its protection. Once I place it back into its tomb, I place a humidifier in with it to protect its body and sound. As I close the lid to its tomb, I gaze once more at its beauty and quietly thank it for taking me on another wonderful journey from my everyday frustrations.
