For the second time (I unfortunately
can’t remember the first one) I woke up one morning
one early July feeling nasty with butterflies in my
tummy for some episodes of nightmares about weird scenarios
of my wedding. The details in my dream were so vivid,
like the picture of me wearing bizarre gown, people
unmindful of the event, no bridal car coming to fetch
me rather I had to commute carrying a bag…color
motif I wanted was not observed in any way… people
were wearing name tags-- and all other sorts of eerie
situations. Oh please! I am doing my “assignments”
for crying out loud!!! But hey, do all brides have one
of these inevitable senseless jitters? I hope so.
Come July, we have started to fill
in our weekend schedules with mammoth of errands and
on July 5, the first Saturday of the month we picked
up invitations at V-Craft at Mega Mall. Surprised of
the speedy outcome and highly satisfactory quality,
we congratulated ourselves and headed home to plan for
the distribution and estimate the total expected guests
size. It took us several rounds of classifying and sorting
people according to our relationship and association
until we made the final count. Whew! This was the toughest
job I suppose, since we were working on the reasonable
budget notwithstanding our hopes to invite everybody
but at the same time avoid the tendency of swelling
expenses. John and I ran a few print outs of labels
for the envelope and at around 11:00 p.m. of that day
(we work that hard you know ? ) we decided to call it
a day.

and Kay with Ptr. Manny |
The next day, July 6, Sunday we went
to visit Pastor Manny, our wedding officiant and started
to get pointers about the significance of these things
we were diligently preparing for. We also handed over
our marriage license to Ptr. Manny for processing.
Ate Chiqui was in town on July 8, Tuesday
for a 5-day vacation leave! We just usually “snatch”
her time off to get on with our wedding business. Came
Saturday, we headed to Edd Sy for the first fitting
of her gown as one of our secondary sponsors while the
rest of the entourage were set to try their dress on
July 26.
This month as we planned, was devoted
to finalizing our invitations and firm up our distribution
schedules. We set August and September to be the ultimate
months left to seal our RSVP’s and caterer appointments,
pick up gowns, trial make up, pre-nuptial shots, etc.
So—would I still have time for some jitters? Hmm…well,
like they all say, mind over matter…come hell
and high water! Heheh…
