*This isn't a rumor it's more a theory. I think the reson Voldemort wanted to kill Harry and James is because they are Gryffindor heir.
1. They lived in Godic Hollow before they died
2. Voldemort said that he wouldn't have kille Lily if she would have move out of the way (she is married to James, but not blood related)
3. When Harry found the right wand, red and yellow sparks came out of the wand
4. He pulled Godric's sward out of the sorting hat.

*when harry was one, voldemort was defeated. book four says that shortly after the downfall of voldie, nevilles parents were tortured by the death eaters. this is my theory: ahem. lockhart was a beginning obliviator the ministry had no time to train him, as voldie was on the rampage and killing wizards and muggles left and right and was on the site after the death eaters did their stuff. i believe that lockhart confronted a frightened 1 to 2 year old neville who had watched his parents torture while hiding in the house. concerned,(not to mention pompous) lockhart did his first memory charm on the distraught child. the spell destroyed the boys skills in wizardry. lockhart was fired. (duh) and in later years tries to prove himself a worthy wizard. meanwhile, neville grows and slowly remembers his parents torture as the spell began to wear off. *These are not really rumors. These are more predictions and a few things that I think may happen. Sorry, I can't really back them all up, but... 1) The 5th book will come out some time between next April and July (i DID read that somewhere...) 2) Snape will play an important role in helping against Voldemort, and we will find a lot out about his character and why exactly he is so bitter 3) Some one will die 4) Lupin and Sirius will be back and will be important in the story (wee....Lupin... :) ) 5) Hagrid and Maxime will be of central importance, and Hagrid may ...make that WILL... get himself into another serious fix um...can't think of any more for now. *This isnt really a rumor, i heard that Jk Rowlings(or someoneclose to her) said in an interview that the reason this book is taking so long is that its 39 chapters, and it was ment to be MUCH shorter! also that she had to write someones death that she did not want to do, and she dwelled on it for a long time. - HP
