Robert Henry Blain;  Born April 20, 1944;  Delaware County, Ohio; son of :  Henry Lee Blain 1889 - 1964 and Martha Jane Eads Randall Blain 1911 - 1975.  Married; August 2nd 1964 to Barbara Louis Wortz; b- February 21, 1947, also from Delaware, Ohio.  Bob and Barb have made Ringling, Oklahoma their home.

Bob and I were a team.  Born only a year apart and both of us named after dad; Henry Lee Blain.  I got his middle name John Lee and Bob was Robert Henry.  Dad and the 2 of us worked together when we were old enough.  He kept 2 gardens many years and had us in them teaching us the finer points of gardening.  One of the "finer points" was not chopping off vegetables at the roots with the weeding hoe.  Pop would be keeping his eyes on us to make sure we didn't.  I remember it as backbreaking work, we did so much of it as kids.  I have never wanted to keep a garden, much to Becky's dismay but Bob keeps a big one  for his family, every year.  Dad had several jobs in Kilbourne; he sold spices, kept his gardens and also worked for the township as caretaker for the cemeteries.  Bob and I spent many a day walking behind lawn mowers and grass whips and we helped dig many a grave.  You can say we lived in a different world than kids do today, we learned how to work and dad saw to it we were kept busy and out of trouble.  There was no such thing as lazing away the days.

When Bob and I weren't at school or helping with the cemetery work or working in the gardens, we played. We did everything together and Judy wasn't far behind taking it all in so she could tell Mom on just what "the boys" did.  We played at a creek not too far behind the house, just over the hill the other side of the big garden.  We had paths made to it and paths thru the fields to friends homes.  We could run like the wind over the paths to our hide outs and we could bicycle even faster on the rides we took into town, a good ride of seven miles.  That trip into town was done many times by foot.  It was when we were older and we had bikes that we did the trip peddling.   Playing, working and keeping tabs on Judy until she was old enough to have her own interests kept us pretty busy.  We were pretty good kids and being raised out in the country was a good thing.  We knew what a cow and a chicken was, where milk and eggs came from and the work made us better men.

Bob is handy with tools, something our brother Dave taught us. Bob and son, Bobby, are building this house for Bobby's family.

Bob is tall, about 6' and weight about 270.  His hair has turned silver but he was blessed with a full head of it, not losing it like I have.  He has blue eyes and a muscular build.  He liked sports in school and his build made him pretty good at football.  He is quiet like myself and likes the outdoors.
