10-29-02 Today, I anticipated it being a rather busy day than an interesting fun one. First thing is first, I got up in the morning went online talked with my sweetie and I bought the ticket for my trip home in December. I am kinda excited now even though my parents kinda deterred me from coming home. Anyway after talking with my cutie, kaori, ann, and myself were off to this art supply store in Shinjuku. Shakaido, is it's name and it is the equavalent of a nicer Michelle's, but in Japan :) I was overly happy when I saw all of the different manga artist stuff that they had. I went through all of the books they had and I kept looking at this one book that taught you different CG technique and now I am kinda kicking myself for not getting it. I ended up buying one of the manga artists kits, but it does not come with a blade so I am unsure how one is suppose to cut the tones and everything. I dunno it did not matter I was glowing. I also make a promise to myself that I should start drawing from observation everyday even if I don't want to do, just do it. I want to get back into the habit of it. We were gawking at all the store we walked by and discussing the evil in the world, and how their is money left over from what the students paid for the dorm, but they are not giving the money back to the students... bs... Anyway we took the subway back to the dorm using one of the brand new lines. We had only fifteen minutes once we were in the dorm to get ready for the party. I did not need to change, so I went to my room and came down. I opted to keep my long sleeve shirt on since it would freezing later. Off we went, it a big crowd of Asian girls and the one American. While were walking Minori, Sarah, and I were kinda walking ahead of the crowd and there was this strange old man. If we were being slow he would kinda of wait for us, it was strange, but I think he was interested in the fact that we were speaking English. I think that he was surprised to see a foreigner since at the big crossing at the light he kinda stood close to me, so I maneuvered myself to be elsewhere. At Ichigaya we were all wondering what happened to him. Anyway we got on the train and Sarah and I began talking about domestic abuse and rape, I forget how the conversation led to this, but she could not believe that wives beat up their husbands and she thought it was rather funny. I tried to explain how physcologically damaging it is for the men becuase of that very reason, not many ppl take it serious. We reached our stop that was immediately after Shinjuku station, Okubo. Kaori called the guys and then they met us at the train station. I saw this one guy dressed up and I laughed and asked, "Why is that guy dressed up?" As soon as I realized that they were the guys from the dorm, I started laughing, I couldn't help it. Then we got to the dorm, took off our shoes, replaced them with slippers, and set down our backs. They had small tables set up and then we had our choice of wine with strawberries or beer. We sat down and this one guy who spoken english but obviously had physical deformities started talking to me. We all sat there with our pamplets wondering what was going to happen next. The schedule of events according to the book we had two games and then some sort of Mr. Wonderful contest. After we did a toast and they introduced the people in charge of putting the festival together, we ate. They did not have any sort of real food. Mostly finger food. They did however have a table of hard liquor. One of the girls sat down and kept saying that a certain drink was good, I tried it and amazingly enough it did not taste like their was any alchohal in it. It was called Malibu Milk. I drank two of them and a screwdriver, but oddly enough I did not even feel remotely tipsy. Next we played this game where you had to guess what was wrong with the video. In the one, the guy was in the fridge. The second clip one had to guess how many people suffered getting hit with a hot towel, and the third were did the guy just come from. I ended up guessing the third clip right. Then there was a slight break for more food. Then the second game was they played a song and they had all of the jacket covers on the wall, but the person from your group had to grab it first. I did not play since I would not know any of the Japanese songs. I only recognized one song since it was from an anime, but I couldn't remember which one let alone tell you the jacket cover. One of the girls from the dorm and I were really having a lot of fun with the game since our team was winning. After we had our desert, we had a pictionary type of game. Our team then began to lose terribly. We ended up placing 4th, but it was fun and the DJ let me scratch, and everybody was really nice. Then was the Mr. Wonderful contest which I did not participate in since I felt it was kinda shallow. I sat there and drew with the paper left over from the pictionary contest and I kinda got a crowd. After all was said and done we had our picture taken and then we were invited to go karaoke, but everyone was sooo tired. Off we went and then we walked home since we wanted burn off the fat we just gained. Once home I attempted to work on my homework and then I finished some e-mails and then I went into my room and studied for my Japanese test, which took me two hours, then off to bed.
