159 009 running is running with just 2 cars due to a extensive fire damage in the center coach (at the time it was under repair at Crew Works). Here the unit is seen working a service together with 159 014 to London Waterloo.

Old and new. 159 009 is stationed next to class 421 301 (4-CIG) at Waterloo, again on 24th July 2003. The 4-CIG is at least 4 times older than the 159!!!

159 001 and 159 013 leave Woking, interestingly 159 001 is running with just 2 coaches. I presume this is due to a fault with the other, but if you anybody knows the correct reason I would be very pleased to hear from you!
