Songs 15 through 11...five songs that deserved to make the Top 10 of the year but just barely missed that honor.  Hip hop, alternative, country; it's all here.  These were some of 2006's biggest names on the chart, and these are, quite simply, some of 2006's biggest hits.
15. When Heaven Scrapes The Pavement by Mars Ill
To see 2006's top album produce a Top 25 hit is certainly no surprise.  Mars Ill's style of hip hop is, in one word, excellent.  And the entirely different style of
When Heaven Scrapes The Pavement proved to be one of 2006's most potent singles.  The track debuted in the Top 50 on July 12 at #38. It spent a total of 23 weeks in the Top 50 in 2006 (Though it still continues to chart in the Top 25).  So far, it has spent 20 weeks in the Top 25, 13 of which were in the Top 10.  Though spending only one week at #1, When Heaven Scrapes The Pavement was consistently one of the year's biggest competitors in the last half of the year, and it ended up being a Top 25 hit by the end of the year.

14. MakeDamnSure by Taking Back Sunday
When Taking Back Sunday came back to the music scene in 2006, they brought with them one of the most infectious singles to hit alternative radio.
MakeDamnSure first hit the Top 50 on March 15, debuting at #38.  It spent a total of 23 weeks in the Top 50 and spent two weeks at #1.  MakeDamnSure also spent 16 weeks in the Top 25 and eleven in the Top 10.  Taking Back Sunday had a huge year in 2006, and they definitely have a lot of momentum as they enter 2007.

13. Every Mile A Memory by Dierks Bentley
If something has felt a bit off about the Top 100 so far, it may be the fact that Dierks Bentley's name has not appeared...until now.  Dierks' name never left the Top 25 or Top 50 in 2006, with a total of four singles appearing during 2006.  This was the third single of the year for Dierks, the first from his latest disc.
Every Mile A Memory debuted in the Top 50 on July 5 at #22.  It spent 22 weeks in the Top 50, including one week at #1.  The single also spent 18 weeks in the Top 25 and 13 in the Top 10.  That this is Dierks' first appearance on the chart is impressive.  That he's not done is, perhaps, even more impressive.

12. The Diary Of Jane by Breaking Benjamin
Like Taking Back Sunday, Breaking Benjamin returned to alternative radio in 2006 with an incredibly infectious lead single and a solid new disc to go with it.
The Diary Of Jane debuted in the Top 50 on June 28 at #45.  It has spent 25 weeks in the Top 50, including one week at #1.  It spent 17 weeks in the Top 25 and 12 in the Top 10.  Breaking Benjamin's lone appearance in 2006's Top 100 is certainly a memorable one, and it definitely provides some great momentum for the band entering 2007.

11. Don't Wait by Dashboard Confessional
Dashboard Confessional's trademark musical stylings returned in full force in 2006.
Stolen took the year's honors for the most weeks at #1 (seven total) and made the year's Top 25 (And still continues to chart in the Top 10).  Don't Wait also made strong waves on the Top 50 for Dashboard during the year.  Debuting on May 31 at #38, Don't Wait spent 25 weeks in the Top 50, with one week in the top spot.  It also spent 19 weeks in the Top 25 and eleven in the Top 10.  Dashboard proved to be one of 2006's best bands, managing two of the year's Top 25 singles.
