In May 1750, magistrates of Cumberland Co. (of which the future Franklin Co. was then part) went into Path Valley in response to complaints from local Indians, where Felix and others had illegally settled on Indian lands. The settlers were convicted, sent out of the valley, and their houses, cabins, etc. were burned; the incident was known as Burnt Cabins. Later, when the land was bought from the Indians, Felix and many of the others returned. He was Viewer of Fences in 1767, Superintendent of Roads in 1769, and Constable in 1777.
