THE BOY SENDS A MESSAGE TO KILLER INSTINCT
(The scene opens up in the backstage area of a local house show. We see Scott "The Boy" Hellings
wearing a black PSI shirt and a pair of jeans. He is walking down a long corridor
carrying a large bag with all of his wrestling gear in it, heading for his rental car to get to his next destination. RWW reporter Michael Cole comes
running up to The Boy.)
COLE-
"Scott! I was wondering if I can ask you a few questions?"
HELLINGS-
"Yeah, just don't take too long."
COLE-
"Sure. On Monday Gold you will be facing your toughest match to date. A steel cage match
against the current Rampage World Wrestling Champion Killer Instinct. What are your thoughts
on the match itself and what are you doing to prepare for it?"
HELLINGS-
"Preparation? I have been doing some, but preparation isn't the key here. You see,
Michael Cole, this whole match comes down to one thing. Just one thing, Michael. And that
one thing is instinct. When you are in a ring facing an opponent and you are surrounded
entirely by a steel cage one needs to have great instinct. One needs Killer Instinct. Our
little champion seems to think that he has a lot of that, but come Monday I will show him what
killer instinct is really all about. It's not a name, it's about desire and he doesn't have it. You see, instinct has been very valuable to me throughout my short
career here in RWW. It was pure instinct that told me to put aside any differences that I had
with Jay and Tommy in the past and join PSI. It took pure instinct to beat Sycho Sid for the
RWW Intercontinental Championship at the appropriately-named Instinct 2001. And come Monday night, our little
wannabe champ is going to find out what instinct is all about!"
COLE-
"I see. Were you at all upset to hear that the title would NOT be on the line?"
HELLINGS-
"Upset? Of course I was upset! This week's Friday Fire will be in Vancouver in my
homeland of Canada and there is NOTHING I would love more than to come home carrying the
RWW World Title! But if Rob Gamble doesn't want this to be a title match than I have to
accept that! But rest assured, I will get my title shot and I will win!"
COLE-
"Do you feel that Mr. Gamble is trying to play around with you because you were such good
friends and you refused to support him?"
HELLINGS-
"Of course Gamble is trying to screw me! But you know something Michael? I am not going to
suck up to Rob Gamble ever again! He isn't worth my time! And if Killer Instinct can remove his lips from Gamble's
ass long enough to get into the ring with me on Monday he might find out that those who
stick with Rob Gamble get screwed! He's going to regret ever aligning himself with Rob
once I am through with him!"
COLE-
"You know recently Big Daddy Bruce claimed that not enough of the RWW troops were as
dedicated as he to getting rid of Mr. Gamble. How do you respond to that?"
HELLINGS-
"Not doing enough? I refused to fight my own friend on Friday night and then I kicked
Gamble's ass! How about last week? I forfeited my IC title in protest as to what Gamble did to
Rampage World Wrestling at HonoR! That belt meant everything to me! It was the very
first title that I had ever won. It showed me that all my years of training had finally
paid off, that I could be someone in this business! That's not an easy thing to do! If
Bruce can actually remember the very first championship belt he won as a wrestler I'm sure
he would understand where I'm coming from!"
(Hellings looks directly into the camera)
HELLINGS-
"Not doing enough Bruce? I told one of my best friends to go to hell! I have put just as
much effort into this as you have! And you know what Bruce? I find it rather amusing
that you are preaching to me about getting off my ass and doing something about a situation
like this! I seem to remember a few weeks ago I had to tell you to either shut the hell up
or stop playing mind games with Rob Gamble and decide whose side you are on! At least I can
make a decision right away Bruce!"
COLE-
"So just one final thought then. On Monday Gold you expect to walk out as a winner?"
HELLINGS-
"You seem to be catching on Cole! I will beat Killer Instinct on Monday inside that steel
cage and then I am coming for Rob Gamble! You see, Cole I know I will win on Monday because
I seem to remember a video game that also called itself 'Killer Instinct.' And as sure as
I'm standing here I beat that game just like I will beat the wrestler of the same name!
Because I am The Boy and that means I AM THE BEST!"
(The Boy storms off, leaving Michael Cole behind. Fade to black.)
