GOOD. SCOTT, HUNTING
(The scene opens up inside a thick forest. We see Scott "The Boy" Hellings slowly creep into
the shot amongst the thick foliage. He is wearing hunting gear and is holding a rifle. He is
creeping along, obviously focusing intently on something. He finally looks towards the camera
and puts up a finger to his mouth, to ask for quiet.)
HELLINGS-
"Ssh! Be very, very quiet; I'm hunting overrated wrestlers! This week at BloodZone
I am facing the man known as Creature. Some would say that, given Creature's
credentials, this is a huge opportunity to make a name for myself. But that would
be getting it all wrong. That would be assuming that I somehow have something to gain
from this match. And that, my friends, is wrong, but I'll get back to that in a minute. Because I don't need to prove myself to
anyone, I already know how good I am and you should too. I know I am THE Canadian Legend and that
I can take out Creature without putting forth much effort. I only hope Creature knows this. Assuming he can overlook me
will be his first-and last-mistake. So you see Creature, the predator has become the prey, the hunter has become the
hunted. I just hope, for your sake, that you realize that before it's too late. Make no mistake about it, I will
show you no mercy.
You step into that ring with me and I will make damn sure that I take you out. It's survival of
the fittest buddy and you can just consider me Darwin's messenger. And make no mistake about it,
I'll take you out with giving it a second thought. No, it's not that a win over you
will do much for my career per se, but I cannot let up for anyone, no matter who they are. You will be just
another step towards my inevitable rise to dominance around here. Lions and other predatory animals always attack
for the weakest member of the group first. Well around here all you monkeys are looking pretty pathetic if you ask me, but then
again that must be expected when you are the one and ONLY UBERstar! Fate just put you in my way and now I'm gonna stalk you down and
tear you apart the only way I know how. It's not personal, it's just business. It's the law of the jungle."
(The Boy pauses to load some bullets into his gun before continuing.)
HELLINGS-
"You've had quite a run lately, haven't you? At Anything Goes you were named the new World Heavyweight Champion!
And then at the anniversary show you were named Rookie of the Year. Or at least that is what I have heard. I wouldn't really know, because I wasn't
even at the show. Hey, I know I'm new around here, but how disappointed were all my fans, all The Boy Scouts, when they tuned in, only to
see their favourite wrestler NOT there? I am the Nielsen's Favourite Son, so it only seems logical to have someone with my drawing power
on the show. But I guess maybe I've ruffled a few feathers by refusing to choose sides in the redundant RWW/NEW war. Or maybe
the suits around here like failure. You know, it's probably the latter. After all, they name Creature as Rookie of the Year and then
place him into a match he simply cannot win. Instead of capitalizing on his honour by allowing him to really show off his skills, they decide to bury him
by placing him against me. That's rough, isn't it? You don't think my victory is a foregone conclusion? Ignore the accolades, ignore the win-loss record and
get down to the basic facts.
If nothing else, I'm in Creature's head. You see I was once in his shoes. I entered into RWW, the very same company that he claims to
represent today, as a rookie. I had never wrestled before in my life! But in no time at all I went from prospect to respect! I've already been in his shoes, I'm a former two-time
RWW Champion myself, so I know exactly what thoughts are going through his head these days. I have a distinct advantage! Creature's situation is one I've seen countless others go through and have
even experienced it before myself. So I'm not going to be awestruck by his recent accomplishments and let that compromise my match. Nor will I be intimidated.
Creatures can smell fear, but he won't be getting a whiff of that from me. No, instead of smelling fear he'll be tasting defeat! Rookie of the year? Well after I'm done with you, you'll be nothing but a memory!"
(The Boy comes upon a steel trap lying on the ground. He bends down and inspects it as he continues to speak).
HELLINGS-
"What do you do with a (making quotation marks with his fingers) 'creature?' You hunt it down and you kill it because it all comes down to kill or be killed. Well I oughta call myself a taxidermist because I know that soon enough I'm going to have myself yet another trophy
to add to my collection. After all, I am The Boy and that means I am The Best! Now I'm not saying that Creature won't put up a fight because I know he will. In fact, this match will finally allow me to face off against a somewhat worthy opponent. At least Creature has proven he is more than capable of handling
himself in that ring. The only problem is that his time has already come and gone; it's already past him by. Like everyone else around here, your time has past, but the NOW belongs to The Boy! I am going to FORCIBLY take that spotlight away from you and put it back where it belongs-on ME! You were Rookie of the Year LAST year, but I have a gut feeling this year won't be as kind to you. How can it be? You're starting the year off on the wrong foot,
facing off against me! I'm sure it will be difficult to make the adjustment from superstar to has-been, but you must always remember that I do have my Red and White Ribbon campaign, to help all those who have
suffered defeat at the hands of The Boy get on with their lives.
I'm sure it will be quite a shock to go from being such a hot commodity to getting beat in the middle of the ring, 1-2-3. Don't worry though-at least you're losing to me and not someone truly pathetic like Mercy. Remember kids, there is no shame in
losing to The Boy. So celebrate your inadequacy! Are you starting to realize the tables have turned Creature? Can you feel me breathing down your neck? You're caught and you don't want to do, huh? When some creatures are caught in a trap like the one before me here, they gnaw their foot off in order to survive. You won't have that option Creature. So all you can do is go in there and resign yourself to your fate.
(The Boy begins to search through his pockets, looking for something he cannot find).
HELLINGS-
"There are duck calls, there are deer calls, there are even bear calls. But there is no such thing as an inept wrestler call. For someone like me though, I don't need it because I can sense inferiority. And we all know that everyone, no matter how good they might appear to be, is inferior to me. Heck, they may call me The Boy, but there is no doubt that I am The Man! Again, that is why this match is of consequence to me; I have nothing to gain. As I've already said, beating a champion like
Creature will not be the huge opportunity to make a name for myself like some might think. Everyone already knows that I am the Marquee Player, the Franchise Saviour, and the Number One Money Maker! I proved myself years ago, back in the old RWW, competing in now-classic matches night in and night out! I don't have anything to prove and I certainly have nothing to gain from this! Sometimes a shot is missed and an animal gets lucky, allowed to live another day. That is exactly what
has happened with Creature.
Trust me, this guy is so lucky he should go out there and buy himself a lottery ticket! Because he knows that if his title was put on the line against me, it would be around my waist by the end of BloodZone. Instead, his championship reign can continue for at least a little while longer. Congratulations, you get to keep your title
by default. Just pray that you don't find yourself defending that title against me anywhere down the line because I assure you that I shoot to kill.
So even though I have nothing to gain, that doesn't mean I will take any mercy on you Creature. I need to demonstrate what I am capable of so that I am given more opportunities to show off my incredible skills. Maybe then I won't get left off shows or passed up for title matches. I deserve to be recognized and each week I go out there inches me closer to the respect I demand. So while you are not entirely inconsequential, you are merely just a piece of a larger puzzle, Creature. Maybe will start to sit up and take notice
after BloodZone, and maybe they won't. Regardless of whether they do or not, I'm walking out of the match the way I always do-as a winner! Why? Because I want to, because I can!"
(The Boy smiles smugly and then walks off into the forest as the scene fades to black).
