Mark 15: 16-20,33-39 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. And they began to call out to him, "Hail, king of the Jews!" Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him. At the sixth hour darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" When some of those standing near heard this, they said, "Listen, he's calling Elijah." One man ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to take him down," he said. With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"

Last weekend Jon sung in the Royal Albert Hall with his Saturday morning musical theatre group Theatretrain in front of 4000 people. Not only that he sung a duet! How cool is that?? Oh yeah and saw delirious? in Wolvehampton tonight, they were on top top form. |

Revelation 3:14-21 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
30/11/04 The second half of November was focussed on 2 weekends. The Westwood student weekend away was a great time for all concerned. Fellowship, fun and hot tubs are always a grand combination. After this my attention switched to my 21st birthday weekend. I had a 38-person strong party at my house in Coventry on Friday followed by a much smaller gathering on the Saturday at my house. I had a superb birthday although now I am appartently old and grown up. Hmm!

14/11/04 The Cu Houseparty once again dominated the first half of November. Tim Gunns talks on Revelation were amazing and of course the serious amounts of fun and serious lacks of sleep prevailed! I didn't go on the walk to wales this year but very much enjoyed the muddy game of footy out on the pitch. However the fun didnt stop at the houseparty thanks to Moscow State Circus the next weekend; incredible acrobatics and funny funny clowns.

14/12/04 Well the holidays are once more upon us and 7/9ths of my uni career complete. We celebrated by having a Christmas house meal, perfectly cooked, Steve even had a temperature thing to stick in the chicken! Oh by the way my bed broke in the uni birthday party last month and so this last fortnight has been spent sleeping on my mattress on the floor, glorious!
31/12/04 The end of another year. Christmas morning was a fun experience as I led the morning service at church. Interviewed the kids about their new presents and everything! (Well actually me and Jon did a double act on that bit). Boxing Day saw the panto at MK, not the best. New Years Eve was a new experience as we hit London. We watched the fireworks through the London eye and they looked fantastic, ok so technically they were 2005 but worth a mention. Happy New Year!
1 Chronicles 17 : 4-14 "Go and tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in. I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt to this day. I have moved from one tent site to another, from one dwelling place to another. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?" ' "Now then, tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men of the earth. And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies. " 'I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you: When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever.' "
