Millennia Skools Floorball continued their unexpected odyssey when they knocked NUS Nemesis out of the play-offs with a hard fought 2-0 victory. Millennia Skools Floorball advanced to the Final where they will meet Swiss Club Red Flamingoes, who edged out Moosemen 4-3 in the other semi-final.
In the Ladies' Semi-Finals, there were no surprises as Moosettesz and NUS TItans both advanced to the final. Moosettesz beat Millennia Skools OSB Owls 7-2, while NUS Titans overcame NUS Jupitans 3-0.
Swiss Club Red Flamingoes took a commanding lead, and it was only in the late stages of the match that Moosemen fought their way back into the frame in this ill-tempered clash. But Swiss Club Red Flamingoes held out to keep alive their hopes of the double of the Conference and overall title. They will meet Millennia Skools Floorball who put up a dogged resistance in defence against NUS Nemesis who dominated most of the match but could not convert their chances. Millennia Skools Floorball finally broke the deadlock in the 3rd period, and foiled all NUS Nemesis' attempts for an equaliser, finally adding the killer goal in the final seconds. Millennia Skools Floorball will have to show the same kind of never say die attitude and resilience which they have displayed in their 2 play-off matches to stand any chance against Swiss Club Red Flamingoes, who beat them 12-3 in the league encounter.
Moosettesz had it quite easy in their semi-final, but they did concede 2 goals in a match for the first time this season. NUS Titans kept a clean slate, but were lucky that NUS Jupitans could not convert their many chances. 2 late goals gave a flattering scoreline to NUS Titans. They will need to improve on their performance if they wish to dethrone the Moosettesz from the overall champions seat which they have occupied ever since the start of the local league.
