Literary Works
I am a firm believer in the idea that books can take you anywhere.  Too many people today have lost the wonderful art of reading to the fast pace of computer games, video games, and television.  While these can also stir the imagination, there is a unique quality inherent in books that cannot be replaced electronically.  While I am not a novelist or a professional of any kind, I do enjoy writing short stories and poems.  Some of my shorter poems are on the poetry.com website.  They have length restrictions due to space requirements.  This part of my website is devoted to the poems and stories that are too long for other sites.  I have several that I would like to put on poetry.com, but have been unable to do so because they are longer than allowed.  Please feel free to read them all.  I am listing those that are here and those that are on the poetry.com website.  The ones from poetry.com will link you to the publications page from which you can look up the poem under either Laura Miske or Laura Marie Toler (married and maiden).  Enjoy!
