Will We Ever Learn?
Quietly I sit...
around me minds are blinded
unknown people starving to their death
others murdered in their sleep
everywhere hearts are turning cold.
Thoughts of doubt begin emerging
and slowly start to grow.
Fear becomes the norm;
Anger becomes the everyday.

Softly I sigh...
Buildings topple to the ground
hatred begins to build
times of conflict are remembered;
thoughts of war are renewed.
Those with weapons are empowered;
Those without live in fear.

War engulfs our every thought
chaos reaches out
...comfort is it's guise
Lost in a strange and unfamiliar world
are those that left their faith behind.
Vengeance is their motto now.

I raise my head and find
souls around me crumbling.
Godlessness is reigning now;
The beast is gaining power.
In my heart I pray for all...
Silently, I cry.
