The E-mail That Started It All
 . . . or made it tick!

For pure nostalgic reasons [indulge me, I'm a romantic old fool], the catalystic e-mail is quoted here in whole:

  11 is 10

Hello Guys,

Well, on January 18th, barely ten days to go, we shall be ten years old in NSC. We are getting older! [And my hairline is still receeding!]

Sometime in November, Jessie and I talked about planning some sort of get-together but due to the pressures of the job [job daw ows? o sige na nga: due to the pressing concern of beating the computer in ChessMaster2000] we have not came up with any definite plan.

Last December, the S-i-Cs in Cold Mill, particularly Jonath and Ferdie, have broached the idea of holding it GRAND like celebrating in some hide away like Camiguin, which is enticing, I suppose. I believe they are planning for their own respective nth-time honeymoons.

Anyway, I have been planning to draft this letter and send it last December, but my mind seems anxious to go on Christmas vacation that I forgot to do what I have planned to do.

So let's get to business:

The table is now open for suggestions, initial ones have been suggested such as:

1. Going to Camiquin for a 2- or 3-day stay to include the wives and kids.
[That is one wife and respective kids, not wives!]
Adv: We'll be able to be out freely without jobs on our minds.
Disadv: We'll have to apply for VL and it would cost money.

2. Hold it in some cozy or grand place: like Patio or Maria Cristina Hotel.
Adv: Class and I think we could afford it
Disadv: Could we really afford it? Ha! Ha!

3. Reminisce the times on the usual place, such as in that house in Corpus Christi? Might go Bring your own food!
     Adv: Accessible, affordable.
Disadv: Nostalgic, too many memories in there.

4. Celebrate it like a stag party: FOR THE BOYS!
Adv: No wife for one night, no kids to attend to, no yayas to feed.
Disadv: Wives will wonder where we've gone,
unless our alibis are the same: Nasunog ang ETL, di ba Boyax?

The nitty gritty sub-itinerary, questions, suggestions, and violent reactions should be sent to me by January 13. We also need to create committee managers, if there need be.

Please pass this information to whoever is not listed on the distribution list, or whose name I have missed out. You could either use your MS Mail account or send your replies to mailto:[email protected] or mailto:[email protected]

Thanks and again HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Tigulang na ta, mga p're! [Oops, ako lang diay!]
