Johnson Space Center

All visitors to Houston should make a day trip to see the Johnson Space Center named after the late President. It is located in Clear Lake City which was annexed into Houston. The area boomed during the 1960s when NASA was at its peak. I remember when Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. It was Houston to whom he spoke his first words to after landing on the moon. Neil's first words from the moon were: "Houston, Tranquillity Base here. The Eagle has landed." Several hours later he climbed out of the LM and became the first person to walk on the moon and said: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

Clear Lake City is beautiful and very modern. I feel like I am in a movie when I drive the streets and look at the neighborhoods where the astronauts live and history was made. Houston is known as the SPACE CITY.
