Chapter 1

/It was an odd happening actually. And then here I was stuck in this world with these people trying to convince me that this was a place called Strathaven./

"Wow... This is absolutely magnificent!"

Slender white hands brush large grey stones of an ancient architecture. Within the door frame shaped structure, there was a similar structure, but made of blue stones from the Prescelly Mountains. Yes, this was the great monument called Stonehenge, on the Salisbury Plain in England. A soft chuckle came from behind. It had been a long time since they removed the white fence to students but to the public, the stone was still off limits. Behind the student, stood the chuckling teacher.

"Do you find me funny, Mr. Weit?"

A pair of blue eyes peeked out from behind the grey stone, right in front of the slightly older Mr.Weit. The teacher gave a soft blush as the close proximity of his student, as another student made a soft, disgruntled glance.

"Ugh.."

Was the sound she made as she diverted her eyes back to her clipboard just as her fellow peer leaned against Mr. Weit, something personal happening between the two. Soft scribbles of her pencil drowned out the far two, as her green eyes lingered over the stone. But the odd thing that caught her attention was the slight glow one of the lintle/post structures was emitting. Lifting a hand, she brushed some brown locks over her shoulder and held her clipboard close as she moved toward the structure. Not standing under the large lintle, the sun began to reveal itself from behind the clouds. But as the young brunette saw, there was the normal sun and a twin, even if faded slightly, blue sun. Then, in a flash, both her and the blue sun were gone.

When she stirred awake, a quiet groan slipping her lips as she propped herself up on a arm, giving a good look around at a gather of ten people, all in long brown cloaks, surrounding her, muttering words in a foreign language. It was only to her understanding that it was Gaelic. Finally, the small group parted as an older man walked through the part. He wore a brown top with long white bell sleeves with brown pants. She found herself staring, frightened, into his iciy blue eyes.

"Speak your name, outlander.."

//HE SPEAKS ENGLISH!!// She cried out in her mind.

"M-my name is Ayla... Ayla Elise."

The young girl said with a nervous tone as she rose, only to be shoved back down by rough hands, her eyes squinting momentarily closed, spears now surrounding her neck as she opened her eyes.

"How dare you claim to be Larucah!"

The elder snapped, flinging his finger accusingly at her.

"Lah-Ru-Kah?"

She stuttered out as she stared wide eyed at the spears.

"HEATHEN!"

She was snared from the ground, now being bound and gagged as she was drug down the stone stair path towards the large city at the base of the shrine hill. Ayla stumbled on the stares, her green hues jaunting back and forth as she was pulled towards a large brick building, presumably the jail. The city people eye's coldly watching her, curiously full of pity for the brunette. Off in the far distance, there was a soft blue figure, then it was gone. The elder had sensed the low dispel of magic, but was disrupted by a question.

"Elder Vesir, what are you going to do to the girl?"

A sly smirk came across his lips.

"Test her, if she fails, have fun."

A grin proceeded to flood to the others lips. Ayla was soon tossed into a lone cell. She was still bound, but not gagged. There was a single, slender window, but it was high up. Tears formed at her eyes as she twisted her wrists, the thick rope bindings burning into her skin as she struggled, only to soon give up from he pain and pointlessness.

"What is going to happen to me?"

//God save me...//

To Ayla, minutes pasted like hours, and hours seemed to drag along as if days until a soft rap came to her cell door and a guard in silver armor was standing on the other side of it.

"Stand, Heathen."

The guard called to the young brunette in the corner of the cell. Ayla rose, but a glare held in her green eyes and her fists clentched behind her back.

"My name is Ayla."

She called out, causing the brow of the guard to cock.

"No one told you to speak..."

He growled as he moved into the cell, taking a hold of her bindings, forcing her out of the cell and pushing her down the hall in front of him.

"Where are you taking me?"

He shoved her to make her mock trip, only to pull back on her bindings before she fell over.

"Be quiet or it will be more than just a light shove."

Ayla made a small noise as she was led to a field within the castle she figured she was in. Her bindings were sliced and a bow with arrows were given to her. Within a room near the training field, this elder Vesir was changing his robes.

Approaching the field, Vesir took a seat on the platform and lifted a hand, signaling the release of the chimera. Ayla, whom was completely confused, had been playfully shooting arrows before the sudden up bringing of a gate. Encased in shadows, the large, winged chimera began padding from the cage, it's golden eyes watching the terrified girl. Vesir called to the now panicking Ayla as her green orbs glanced up to him.

"All you have to do... Is kill it."

Her eyes shot back down to the chimera as it took position, scraping it's paw on the dirt before charging at her. She tucked and rolled, but soon let out a scream as the chimera's snake-like tail hit her, blood tickling down her back as she rose from the ground. Her breath had quickened and adrenaline had kicked in. She lifted her bow as the chimera turned, watching her. She stood at perfect stance, the bow held straight. Her eyes glowed green and large white wings exposed now on her back as the chimera took charge towards her once again. She pulled back the arrow. Dead center. The arrow fell right down his skull, splitting it in half, instant kill. A bright smirk came to Ayla's lips before she felt the overwhelming feeling of exhaustion, falling to the ground and passing out.

Tocts was amazed. //Is she really the Larucah? No. She was just lucky.// He growled in the back of his mind, bellowing for a guard to throw her back in her cell.
