| Problem All corporate web sites contain loads of html, images and flash etc. Its easy to put non dynamic html related content onto a website. But many medium scale corporates can not hire a jsp/servlet/php programmer to setup a database and programme a simple resume and job posting interface for their site. The budget for such a venture could easily cross above the $10,000 level depending on the complexity of the resume submission/management system. Solution An ASP could solve this problem for a number of such companies, and yet be economically viable. A company may sign up for this ASP application, add his colour, images, and layout prefences for the system(to match his web site asthetics). The company may display a URL (http://distrimon/resumeform?corpid=company1), in a frame of its website. The user would fill in the resume submission form without ever knowing that he did it from distrimon site. Similarly the HR department of this comapny may then login (http://distrimon/login) and punch corporate user id and password. There the HR folks may manage manage/manipulate the resumes. The HR people may also add new job postings to their website through this management interface. Useful Repository! Since distrimon is common to all these corporate websites, distrimon is collecting a common pool of resumes. Though an individual posted it through a company xyz. This common repository can be made searchable to a wide range of customers through another interface (http://www.detrimonpublic.com/searchresumes or may be the same detrimon url). A user thought he just posted to one company, but it may actually be visible to many many other companies. A candidate may be asked for permission for such kind of accessibility. Same goes for the job postings. The job postings may be private for a comapny i.e. only displayed on the comapnies website, or public searchable through a public interface (http://www.detrimonpublic.com/searchjobs).This application is a dual purpose application, not only serving the needs of a corporate website, but also a hidden resume and job posting collector. |
