1/25/2001 This is a test.

This is a test. This is only a test. If this had been a real email we would be in Thailand with the Peace Corps. However, we are only in Seattle awaiting our departure (on SuperBowl Sunday - grrrr).

We are sending this out to every email that we have right now. If we forgot someone, please send us their address. If you want to be removed from this list please respond, and we'll remove you from our mass email list. We have a friend who has offered to host a website for us, so we may soon have a web page for you to check at your leisure. We will be attaching pictures to our emails, but there may be more pictures on the web page. We'll keep you posted.

To send us snail mail (and as we understand it, the mail service from here to Thailand is literally sent via snail, and takes approximately 3 months):

We are planning to have email and web access while we are gone, and we are planning to send out email updates like this periodically (Lisa is thinking that a monthly schedule will suffice, and Denny is thinking that a weekly update would be better, but we may be limited by our access to the web).

This is our picture Wednesday morning when we left Fairbanks. For those of you who have asked "are you scared, are you concerned, are you getting cold feet or being apprehensive?" - we were too busy packing and moving until recently to harbor such thoughts. However, getting on the plane completed our packing, and gave Denny the opportunity to wonder what Lisa was thinking when she called the Peace Corps' 800 number 19 months ago.
