One summer we went out to Philimont in Cimarron, NM. We took a train out of Syracuse which was fun to begin with. We went through Chicago and arrived in Denver. We spent a few days in Denver and Colorado Springs acclimating to the altitude. When we were acclimating, we did many thing around that area like taking a cograil up Pike's Peak. When we got to Philmont we went through orientation. Our trek ended up to be a 10 day 80 mile trek. We did many things on our trek such as shotgun shooting, burrow racing, rock climing, horseback riding and much more. when we got back there was a closing campfire that was very memorable. The train ride home was fun as well. I would highly recommend going to Philmont.
