Camp Barton is a beautiful Boy Scout Camp located on Cayuga Lake. It is 8 miles north of Ithaca on Route 89. Camp Barton offers a range of merit badges in the areas of Handicraft, Scoutcraft, Nature, the Waterfront and Shooting Sports Boys ranging from ages 11 to 17 can enjoy swimming, boating, and better their skills in many areas. Boys can also earn their Barton B patch with segments earned in many other activities as well. Troops can challenge each other in evening games like ultimate frisbee and capture the flag. The staff does a tremendous job of providing a great summer program for the youth based on a particular topic. Summer 2006 will have a theme of mystery, based on events similar to the game CLUE. The food is good and the friendships made are better. Whether it is earning merit badges, advancing in rank or watching the Camp Director "kiss the Moose", Camp Barton is a great place for Scouts to enjoy the summer!
