| This is a picture of my parents with their little Shetland Sheepdog Gracie. They are collie owners and lovers from way back (Lassie, Prue and Sheba) but wanted something smaller which they could pick up if need be. They figured a "Sheltie" would be ideal as it still had the look of a collie even though they knew it was a different breed. Hence beautiful little Gracie came into their lives. She is a delightful livewire with attitude galore and has Mum and Dad at her beck and call completely. They adore her. We visit them often and take our collies Duke and Susie with us. Gracie has enlisted Susie to be her partner in crime and together they are quite a team. Poor Duke is only allowed to join in to a certain extent - Gracie calls the tune. He has been allocated a delegated distance behind them when they play and is not allowed to exceed it. He does his best to be included but to no avail. Click here for a shot of the collies visiting Gracie. Mum, Dad and Gracie are a perfect example of how much love and happiness a pet can bring, irrespective of age. Whilst ever senior citizens are capable of caring for themselves and their pet/s then I think it should be encouraged. It enriches their lives considerably. |
