I could not let this tribute go without mentioning another precious family member of the past, my son's blue heeler "Brutus".

An absolutely delightful terror, he was friendly, clever and alert.  We used to think of him as a real entertainer. He was such a character, loved fetching the ball, slept with it and guarded it with a passion.  He loved the collies (Tiffany, Sheba, Tisha, Demi and Duke) but they knew to give the ball a wide berth or risk being reprimanded.  His favourite collie was Sheba.  He followed her everywhere.

Brutus was my son's best friend and companion and hitched a ride on his water ski many times.   There was not much which fazed Brutus and he was not at all aggressive but I would have to say he was the most mischievous pup we have ever had.  It was common to see Brutus airborne whilst swinging madly from clothes on the line.  You can imagine the final state of the clothes once he had finished with them.  Thank goodness he finally outgrew this habit.

This little guy was in our lives for 15 years and left us with wonderful memories.  I think after living with so many collies we could classify him as having been an honorary member of the collie fraternity.  I must say I have a soft spot for blue heelers, all due to this little fellow.

We still often laugh about some of his antics to this day.
