Mathena
Wins for the UPP |
|
"Members of the Union Preservation Party, Sons
of Freedom Party, Truculent Party, and
independents through-out
this great land, the contest for the White House
is over--and the fight to preserve the Union
must now be the focus of all our collective
energies and treasure. I would like to take this
opportunity to commend Mr. Akers and Mr. Frost
for a well-fought campaign and for greatly
adding to the common dialogue so as to bring to
light the issues that are truly important to all
Americans. I thank you gentlemen for your
service to your country thus far, and I look
forward to working with you in the future. The
|
insignificant differences that we've had are now
put aside, as they tend to separate us
and distract us from the very things that we all
share and have in common--this is the only way
that we can work together. To that end, I can no
longer consider those beyond the membership of
my party as "opponents" but, rather, for what
they really are and have, in fact, always
been--fellow Americans, who believe in the
Constitution and restoration of the Union as
fervently and as passionately as I do.
Therefore, I humbly accept the challenges that
the office of President of the United States
brings--even in these trying times--because I
know that I am not alone. Together, we have
broken-down the first |
barrier on the
road to
victory for we have put aside what divides us and
have vowed to work together as a nation of
believers in freedom, in justice, and in unity.
Our strength is our common goal...our confidence
in achieving it is unshake-able...our ultimate
victory, then, is assured. God save the Union.

Sons of Freedom
Rally
|
|
After the election results had hit the streets,
the Son's of Freedom held another rally in the
home of our nations birth - Boston. The mood
started solemn and presidential candidate Frost
took the stage. "My
fellow Americans, we have not lost an election.
Our Nation is in the hands of President Mathena
and I for one have full confidence in him. The
Son’s of Freedom are still a political party
with
|
some influence in this country
and I encourage us all to put our support into
the new President.
Our country is in dire need of unity, and the
three major political parties need to pull
together and work as one to overcome our common
foe." The crowd started
to cheer with renewed hope for the future, and
Mr. Frost continued. "We
are a party of the people and we need to ensure
that we continue to support the people in the
future. Our
|
Party is far from defeated, yet we are on
a different path. Our path now is one of support
of our county. So lets keep going with what we
can
do to help, I wish to start the Son’s of Freedom
paper soon in support of our troops and we all
need to volunteer for support of our country."
With that Mr. Frost left the stage with a round
of cheers, and new life in the Son’s of Freedom
Party

Goodbye Old Friend
|
Akers Gives
Concession Speech
|
The younger officer stared at the grizzeled form
of his former commander. The older man showed
the effects of years of battle and the impending
conflict. The younger officer shook his head and
thought to himself, "Had it been only 7 months
since he joined up with the Raiders to shut down
the invasion of Mexico? It seemed like just
yesterday.
He had been greener than goose droppings; just
barely out of the academy. Given charge of a
cavalry regiment and thrown in the fight, the
younger officer remembered how Bill Schmidt took
him under his wing. Letting the young officer
send practice orders over the telegraph to make
sure precious time was not lost. Pointing out
command errors that otherwise could have cost
the Raiders valuable men and ground. So much had
been taught and learned and now the fates
dictated that these two old friends part. Young
but experienced Col George Armstrong Custer
hopped up onto his horse and smartley saluted
Col Bill Schmidt as Schmidt rode off into the
southern horizion in a sign of what was
happening all throughout our nation. Men who had
been as close as brothers now forced to choose
one side against the other. Would the nation be
able to survive the impending struggle? Only
time will tell.
As Col Custer turned his mount north, he smiled
as he remembered his old friends last words to
him, "Autie, watch out for indians on old greasy
chreek." Custer just shook his head and rode off
talking to himself."Where's Greasy Creek?"

A somber party arrived at the Francis Hotel in
Philadelphia today- comprised of many members of
the Truculent Party. The looks on their faces
ranged from disappointment, to solemn resolve,
to silent contemplation- that is all but one!
The last to reach the hotel was the recently
defeated Truculent Party candidate for
President, Mr. Ryan Akers, of Allentown. After
entering the meeting room, seeing the long faces
of his comrades, Mr. Akers spoke briefly
regarding his election loss: "Gentlemen, do not
despair! Our Union is still in very solid hands.
We have served alongside President-elect Mathena;
we have watched him in Congress, in his home
state, in the Army- we have seen his ability,
and we know it to be equal to the task at hand.
We must Unite behind our Government, that we
might keep it from splintering. I challenge each
of you to work with the UPP members in a spirit
of honesty and in a way that will bring victory
for our cause. We daily see the South preparing
for War- preparing to shed the blood of her
neighbors and brothers in the North. Much is
left to do to save our Union. Only the full
cooperation of our citizens will keep the
Constitution in tact! Join me in applauding
President-elect Mathena- join me in supporting
his decisions and his plans, the Truculents and
the UPP should by all means join together within
and without of Government to see that America's
future is not tarnished! To VICTORY with Mathena!"
Upon |
finishing the last, the crowd, realizing
their foolishness, erupted in cheers, placing
their full support behind the new
President-elect."

who have rallied round the flag and shown their
geniune support for the Constitution of the

CSA President
David Gallatin |
With the announcement of my candidacy for
President, the Union Preservation Party has
unleashed the first real volley--not of
shot--but, rather of ideas in this, the
all-important, figurative "battle" for
leadership of the United States. After all, it
will be ideas, borne of the diversity that this
great land offers from all corners, that will be
the true advantage we will have in the coming
struggle where the battles will be very real,
indeed.
My platform--my ideas--are simple and to the
point.
First and foremost, as members of the Union
Preservation Party, we believe that our country
cannot hope to achieve military success if we do
not support the War Department and, in so doing,
our common cause for victory. But, let me be
clear, just as a true leader does not dictate
from above, support from the citizenry does not
imply unquestioning obedience to the White
House. Unity is derived by working together and
by logical debate among rational people. I fully
expect--and desire--to have the representatives
of the people give their input on the decisions
I would have to make and the directives given to
the War Department. I can promise you that all
ideas will be heard and considered.
Secondly, just as we need every voice to be
heard, we need every citizen's talents and
involvement--from the White House to the
officers on the front line--for we must marshall
all of our collective brainpower if we hope to
prevail. Therefore, each and every soldier and
statesman will be allowed to exercise his right
to contribute as much as he can and to rise to
the level of responsibility he merits, based on
his abilities.
If I lose this election based on these simple
ideas, then I believe that we all--as a
country--stand to lose much more, for I know
that these two tenets are the winning
ingredients for victory.
If, however, you believe as I do and elect me as
your next president, then we all win--there are
no losers--save those who would oppose the will
of the people of the United States of America.

The fires of war burn
across our land. We are placed between the rock
of yankee oppression and the anvil of Freedom.
The coming days will determine whether the CSA
becomes cold hard steel or useless lumps of
iron. The future, if we are to have one, will
require strong leadership, a steel will and the
ability to make tough decisions. I have a vision
of what the CSA can be, and what it will take to
achieve that vision, and so I come before you
today and ask for your support in my bid for the
office of President of the Confederate States of
America. My platform will coincide with that of
my party, the Heartland Party.
My administration will give particular emphasis
to training and developing new talent, those for
whom this is their first or second CWOL, who
have never had high command. We will identify
the most talented of our young officers and
place them in positions of high responsibility,
but within a mentoring system of experienced
officers so that these new officers can excel
and learn. I believe this unique combination of
new ideas and old experience will be the key to
victory. Circumstances are such that we must
rely totally on our Armies for victory this
year. We cannot depend on naval victories or
diplomatic endeavors to assist us. This is going
to be an Army brawl my friend, like it was in
the early days of CWOL, and it is towards that
end that my planning has been focused.
My administration will be an inclusive one. My
Vice President will be appointed by me and will
be either an independent or member of a minority
party, preferably a suitable newer player of
talent who wants to learn the ropes of
leadership and command. My advisory council will
similarly be drawn from across the CSA, the best
we can find.
