We have been lucky enough to travel to a few places over the past couple of years and wanted to keep a record of our experiences, both for ourselves and to provide information and recommendations to friends and family who might be thinking of visiting those destinations.
Of course you should take all of our recommendations with a grain of salt. Everyones experiences of travel destinations are tempered by factors such as the season, weather, prior expectations and disagreements with travel companions! Our recommendations also reflect our interests. I am not particularly interested in gazing at World War II bombers, but I know many other people who are. I would much prefer to fossock around bustling markets haggling for bargains, but I appreciate that some people hate this.
Another word of warning: we are pretty budget (some would say stingy) travellers. When it comes to accommodation our philosophy is to go for the cheapest option so long as it is clean and close to the town centre on the basis that we are unlikely to be spending much time in our room anyway. Obviously, if we were going for a relaxing holiday on a tropical island (I am thinking of a pole house off a golden beach in the Maldives here) our philosophy might change.
So if you fancy a Korean BBQ in Seoul or sunning yourself on a nudist beach in Croatia then read on....
