We stayed at one of the best value places we have discovered in Western Europe: Berolina Backpacker. A double room cost only �43 per night and had a little balcony overlooking the street. Berolina is in Charlottenburg, to the west of the city centre, but is less than a block away from the train station. It is in a nice area and there are several cafes with outdoor seating in the surrounding streets.
