Advanced Placement United States History (APUSH) is a fast-paced, college-preparatory survey class that focuses on the main themes of United States History while preparing students to take The College Board's APUSH exam in early May.  What makes APUSH at The Covenant School is our emphasis, not on dates and names, but on decisions made by human beings.  One of the most important lessons of history is that human nature is consistent, which bears out the Biblical truth that we are fallen creatures in need of God's redemption through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
In studying decisions,  we emphasize three motives that most frequently influence behavior:  power, economics, and ideology.  We also explore the multiple consequences of decisions.

Mr. Matthew Davisson is a seventh-year teacher at The Covenant School.  He teaches AP US History and History of the United States 11 (HOUSE).  For the past four years, he has also served as a reader for The College Board's Advanced Placement United States History Exam, which has been an excellent opportunity to understand how to improve students' scores on the APUSH Exam.  Click here to email Mr. Davisson.
