For lenses with non-standard diameters (or with damaged threads), there is the "universal" ring. It is attached to the outside of the lens and will fit on all lenses under 75 mm (A Series), 84 mm (P Series) or 118 mm (X-PRO Series).
Extension Rings
Some wide-angle, video zoom or digital camera lenses have a retractable lens assembly which means that the COKIN filter-holder may inhibit the use of some focal lengths. Also, some lenses may have elements obstructing the free rotation field of the filter-holder. To remedy these situations, add one or several "extension rings" between the lens and the adaptor ring of the filter-holder.
