I hope to expound on this page soon but for now, I want to share about a song that is one of my personal All-Time Favorites that I would love nothing more than Clay Aiken to cover. The song came out in August of 1982 when I was on vacation in Europe with my dad and sister.
You may not know it because although it was a Top 20 hit in it's homeland, it never made it - at least not to my knowledge - to the USA. I had to order the 7" record from England (I don't know why I did not buy it while I was in England like I did for Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners).
The song is called Hurry Home and it is by Wavelenght.

Steve Thompson is the writer for the song. Now this Steve Thompson is not to be confused with the Steve Thompson who (along with his partner Michael Barbiero) did numerous remixes in the 80's, notably Shout and Mother's Talk by Tears For Fears; Over And Over, Open Your Heart and Who's That Girl by Madonna; and also No Promises and Electric Blue by Icehouse just to name a very few and who also produced Guns And Roses. That is a different person altogether. Steve Thompson, the songwriter (and also producer) resides in the UK and he actually wrote this song for his wife. According to him, this song "still gets played on the radio quite a bit and is often requested by people with loved ones who are far away." Thompson has written numerous other songs.
