The After Party

While Britney Spears's show let out at 10:45 or so, the Independent show finished by 9:50. As I came out I saw the lady who had come to my aid earlier and we talked about the show a little and also I told her that I had seen Britney Spears and that I may come to see Sarah McLaughlin in the Summer. Then I asked her "If I had fainted, would I have been kicked out?" I wondered this because of that comment by the paramedic "If you are denying being sick, I'll have to let you go". She told me that I would not have been kicked out.

OK, now to make my way out of the building. It's Karaoke night at Charlies! Time to sing me some Clay Aiken. After all, on the night of the Britney concert - a Karaoke night - I sang some Britney songs! While I was making my way throught the concession hall I heard some girls just ahead of me yell "Kellyyyyyyyy!!!!". Ok, so I yelled "Clayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!", overlapping their "eeeeee" as they stretched out the "ly" in Kelly. They were not amused. They all looked back in suprise and what appeared to be annoyance to see this older man with a go-tee. I didn't give a damn! What the hell? Who needed them, anyway? "Well you yelled "Kelly'! I defended. "I'm supposed to, so I yelled 'Clay'!" I know they were probally thinking something stupid, like "eeeeewww" he's probally gay! "While ain't you ever seen a boy in love with Clay Aiken?" I should have said or perhaps I should have told them: "Clay Aiken was better looking than Kelly!" That would have really set them off! Once outside, I got on my Beach Cruiser bicycle and pedaled away almost effortlessy while those in cars would be jammed up in traffic. It was off through the night streets of downtown Denver and on my way to the Capital Hill area where I lived and also where Charlies was. While I was cruising a funny thing happened; a Beatles song was playing in my head and so I started singing it and thinking that I may want to do the song for Karaoke. It was funny because I am not a Beatles fan and I get annoyed when people younger than me think the Beatles are the best band ever. Screw 'em, I would rather listen to Nsync, but honestly U2 would be a better choice! I am, however; old enough to be a Beatles fan and get away with it (but I actually like David Bowie better). Anyway I was singing "I Want You" as I tooled my way through the dark and quiet streets...I wonder why?

" I want you, I want you so bad Clay Aiken! I want you, I want you so bad it's driving me mad oh yeah yeah yeah yeah. He's so....."

Oh... That's why.
