Intro:
Sonic Jam was the first major compilation of Sonic games, but also has many other features such as the 'Sonic World', a 3D area where you can run around as Sonic and enter various museums of Sonic paraphernalia.

It also has various extras relating to each game, for example Easy, Normal and Original modes, save points, options to play only the special stages and the ability to use the spin dash move in Sonic the Hedgehog.

In Sonic World, there are several museums: The Character House, Music Shop, Movie Theater, Art Gallery and Hall of Fame. The Character House features profiles and design sketches of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Eggman, as well as images of the animal friends and enemies from Sonic the Hedgehog to Sonic & Knuckles. The Music Shop features, logically, music and sound effects from Sonic games. The Movie Theatre has several of the sublime Japanese Sonic adverts (if the phrase 'Funky Action!' means anything to you, you'll know what I mean), the Sonic CD intro and ending, a trailer for the two episode long Sonic anime and some CGs. The Art Gallery has a collection of Sonic images that can also be found in Sonic the Hedgehog The Screen Saver. Finally, the Hall of Fame is a timeline of Sonic up until 1997.
