Blue Sphere

No way? No way! No way? No way!

Intro:
'Blue Sphere' is what you get when you put Sonic the Hedgehog into the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge. A Sonic 1 & Knuckles, if you will. The game essentially is thousands of levels in the style of Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles' special stages. When you load up the game, you get Sonic, Knuckles, Tails and Eggman on the screen with 'No Way!" scrolling across the screen. Press A, B and C all at once and the game will activate.

Story:
Sonic and Knuckles decided that hey, those special stages in Sonic 3 were pretty cool, so they spend their weekend subjecting themselves to running through some randomly generated ones. Or something like that...

The Game:
Blue Sphere is a like a little extra game that you got as compensation for not having Knuckles in Sonic 1. It's not particularly deep, but it is mildly enjoyable. You play the game exactly as you do the special stages of Sonic 3 and Knuckles, running around a big globe, turning left or right around the coloured squares. You need to collect all the blue spheres on the level, but avoid the red ones. However, once you run over a blue sphere, it becomes red. Touch a red and you get warped out the level empty handed.

If you run around the perimeter of blue spheres (for example, all the outside blues on a 3x3 square, meaning there's one blue you don't touch), they all, including the middle sphere, disappear, but leave rings instead of red spheres. Collecting all the rings gives you a 'perfect', which in S3/K would give you a load of points, but in this, just gives you bragging rights.
